James Kaplan's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Kaplan treated my late husband before he died at Overland Park Regional Hospital. Unfortunately, Dr. Kaplan tried to profit off my husband's illness by insisting that I have him moved to my home, set up a hospital room for him so that a respiratory company he had ownership in could provide his respiratory needs there. He tried to convince me that our insurance would pay for the necessary equipment and his care. I confirmed that this was not the case with the insurance company. Dr. Kaplan was livid when he learned that I had consulted with them and learned that he was lying to me. I would be very careful if you are a patient or have a loved one in his care. He is only out for making more money at your expense.

I saw Dr. James Kaplan who I felt was very knowledgeable. He was easy to understand and explain my results so I could grasp why I needed the test and what the results meant to my general health.

My visit went very smoothly. My breathing test was on time and the therapist was delightful. Dr. Kaplan was very thorough and was receptive to my summary of my cough. We’re all puzzled. He did an excellent job.

My visit as others in the past was excellent. No wait, detailed update on my sleep program and consistent follow up. Great experience.

I visited with Dr. Kaplan via video chat on behalf of my father-in-law, Charles Williams. (He does not have a phone that will allow such a video visit, so I facilitated the chat.) Charles was very pleased with the attention he received from Dr. Kaplan. The visit was pretty brief, but Dr. Kaplan ordered an oxygen tank for Charles and he seems to be sleeping much better as a result. (Dr. Dan Knight)

Dr. Kaplan listens carefully, explains well, is thorough, and always prepared to explain test results. He is efficient, on time, and has empathy for his patients. He was one of my doctors in the hospital several years ago when I was sent there by ambulance from another doctor. During the course of 5 days, I was so impressed with his manner of care and desire to find a solution that I said that I wanted to be his patient. I continue to be pleased with the great care I received from Dr. Kaplan and his staff.

Dr. Kaplan and his staff are always knowledgeable, patient, understanding and caring. Dr. Kaplan has improved the quality of my life by diagnosing and treating a condition that other doctors over the years couldn't help. He listens extremely well and is always cheerful and positive. I have immense confidence in his care and I would recommend him highly to others. At the bottom on the ratings I intended to check 5 stars for all categories but it does not appear that way, and I was unable to correct my error.

Dr. Kaplan is great. He always takes time to understand my questions. He explains things in a non-technical manner. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr Kaplan is a very personal and dedicated. He will explain your condition at your level to comprehend. He will take the time to answer any question you may have. You will find he is well respected through out the hospital and his office. I am very satisfied I became a patient of his.

I have been a patient of Dr. James Kaplan for almost 40 years & he is very knowledgeable, compassionate, friendly, wonderful listener & does not rush through your appointment. I am truly grateful in having Dr. Kaplan as my lung doctor & hope to continue with him for another 40+ years.
