List of Andrew Ross's Reviews
Dr Ross has repeatedly wasted my time by booking appointments only to hand me a piece of paper with a clinic name and number written on it and sent me off to call them myself. Several years ago I was diagnosed with MS and was referred to a specialist that had 9-12 month waiting times. I was informed that if I needed anything in between specialist appointments to go see my family dr. (DR Ross) for pain management and/or anything else. DR Ross actually told me "you wouldn't call them about a cold/flu or rash, so why would you call me about anything MS related?" I lived in chronic pain for months with no help from him at all while I waited for my specialist to fit me in. Dr Ross was so condescending and rude to myself and my mother that she refused to see him unless my Dad was in the office with her. She has since switched doctors. If I could find a new doctor I would switch as well!
Could do without the Rude Robin at the front desk.
Dr. Ross has been our family doctor for 15 years. I can understand how some of the negative reviews might interpret him as uncaring or nonchalant, however I have found his laid back style to be perfect for our family. I believe he does care, but he is does not make rash prescriptions or jump to conclusions. This sometimes means that we don't get exactly what we want but I've always felt that he has taken my feedback seriously even when my self-diagnosis is incorrect. Dr. Ross has never overlooked our care or sparred any tests to explore our concerns. He listens, has a depth of knowledge and is both personable and professional. If you are considering him, I would highly recommend him as he has been excellent with my son and I.
Dr. Ross has been my doctor for 16 years and I am so thankful to have him. We all have to be responsible for our own health. Doctors are not magicians or psychics. As a patient we have to become a team with our doctor and his staff to solve a medical issue. Communication is very important. Eight years ago I went down this road with Dr. Ross and his team....my symptoms were sporadic and hard to describe and sometimes seemed like so many.....best description I had was I felt like I had been hit by a truck....and yet some days I was better. Dr. Ross persevered with care, tests and never gave up on me. As I worsened and symptoms became more clear.....I remember the relief when he walked into the room and said Judy, I now know the problem and now we fix it. The result was 8.5 hours of brain surgery to remove a tumor. I know I am fortunate to be here today and I know a great part of that I owe to Dr. Ross. I do not see him often....maybe once every 2 years but I know if I have a problem that he cares, gives support and rarely have a wait to see him. Thank you Dr. Ross!
I have had Dr Ross for a very long time and find him excellent always good with information and for doing testing that is required. My husband is ill at this moment and he is kind and considerate and makes sure that he gets all the information he needs as well he has said he is available any time I need to talk to him. The staff are excellent never had an issue.
I've been a patient for over 30 years but today was the last straw I am the father of the pregnant fiancee. For several years now I have felt the same as most people on here. Does not listen, lack of care or concern, just seems to want his patiences making appointments to make appointments. When my pregnant daughter showed up for her first pregnancy appointment expecting to receive the standard bloodwork, paperwork, other routine tests. but then was told she needed to make another appointment to do that on Tuesday. she expressed that she starts a new job on Tuesday and didn't feel right asking for leave so she wondered why she could get a requistion for blood work and be given the paperwork to fill out. Instead she was told that she would have to come in at the sheduled times or find a new doctor. She even requested to go to the teams walkin clinic but was told they don't do obstetrics. I confronted Dr. Ross about making a useless appointment to set up another appointment instead of giving my daughter the care she deserves and I was told" that's the way we do it. " I wonder what Premier Ford would have to say about this doubling appointments. I have since left his practice. I certainly can't get any worse. The only time I have felt like I was seeing a doctor or some one who cared about my well being was when he was on vacation and someone was covering for him or the nurse practitioner Chantel. I will also miss my mental health counsellor Jessica. Don't go to Doctor Ross any other member of that team I'm sure will be fine.
I was a patient of Dr. Ross for most of my childhood and adolescence. I reached out for help when I had depression, I knew something was wrong and he ignored me. I returned to him many times to have something done, a trial on antidepressants, a referral, anything’s.. and refusals. I got to the point when I was 18 years old that I had to bring my father into the office with me before he would actually make a referral. Because of his ignorance, I ended up self-harming for a very long time. Another instance is thyroid issues, which was more than likely related to my depression. He ignored my concerns that I was gaining weight very rapidly with no change in my diet or activity level and that it all seemed centralized around my stomach, I was losing hair, my skin changed and I slept constantly. For years he told me I was not hypothyroid. After a walk in at Hotel Dieu Hospital, doctor’s took a blood test and confirmed that I was indeed hypothyroid and would send that information to my doctor, but upon seeing him for a follow up, he told me “You aren’t hypothyroid, those were residents and they aren’t experienced enough”. Just when I had gotten a glimpse of hope, he crushed it for me. It was while I was in university that I saw new doctors, I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and finally began treatment. From the time I was in my late teens to my mid-twenties, he ignored this and I left his practice as a result. Years later, my sister, who is still a patient of his, told him that I was indeed Hypothyroid and that both that illness and my depression had been acknowledged, treated and as a result I was happy, thin again and almost back to my normal self. Another word of warning, starting at 14, up until my 20’s, he kept pushing contraception at me and I didn’t want it, he insisted on the IUD even though I had never had children and had never in my life been pregnant and he gave me a hard time about trying things like the Nuva Ring and Ortho Evra Patch. He won’t treat thyroid problems or depression, but he insists on something so invasive? Beware.

Dr Ross was our family doctor for years. He is friendly, compassionate and patient with children. When our youngest got sick, he was helpful in coordinating his care. He would follow up and anytime we needed to see him he would accommodate us. I recommend Dr. Ross
Dr. Ross does not listen. His advice is useless. Getting any kind of referral is almost impossible. Changes medications without contacting the patient and is not willing to help or seems uninterested in helping. He is not a doctor for any kind of anxiety, depression or mental illness. He seems to think sleep and no caffeine will cure everything. Seeing him for anything that doesn't require antibiotics is useless. No follow up or follow through. His secretary, Michelle, is rude and defensive. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
