This guy seemed like an idiot concerning catheter changing, side effects of medications, 2-balloon catheters. Complete idiot. Find another doctor. He did not use my insurance card and sent me the bill, $600 for cystoscopy, $500 for a catheter change and it hurt really bad and caused bladder spasms for 6 days afterward. I'm glad I did not let him do surgery on me.
$600 for a cystoscopy. $500 to change my catheter and it hurt worse than anybody else who has changed my catheter. He did not know that prostate medication has side effects. He had never seen a 2-balloon catheter before he saw mine. He tried to send me home without a catheter. I would have been the emergency room later that day, because I have permanent retention. The office accepted my insurance card and then billed me for the full amount, $1100. Why take my insurance card it you don't use it. My primary care doctor had warned me beforehand, "I wouldn't take my dog to this guy." Run for you life from this urologist.
Bad experience, hurt me when putting in the catheter. His knowledge seems not good.
Went yesterday to see Dr Rupp within 5 minutes he told me I have a tumor in my bladder because I smoke mind you he hasn’t done any testing yet. I left in tears. I will never refer him.
Worst experience I have ever had at a doctors office before. First time I went to him was in the Topeka office, he was rude then. Did lithotripsy, rude. In Emporia went to get my stent out. Waited 2 hours to get back to the room then the nurse was really annoyed with me because I was not the person she thought I was and argued with me about it. Then Dr Rupp was very rude, did not give a flying crap about me. Just ripped the strand out of me & walked out. Do not see this “doctor”
Very rude and rough. The procedure that he did in his office had me screaming and crying in pain and he kept stating that the tube was in a hard place well he put it there that procedure has always been done under anesthesia I will never go back to him and I just had x-rays done not quite the year anniversary and I have several kidney stones in the same kidney that I had when he took the x-ray almost a year ago so I’m not sure what I went through all the pain for
Excellent physician! Staff members are friendly and professional!
I first met Dr. Rupp when he diagnosed that I had prostate cancer. He diagnosed it early enough to operate before any cancer cells went to my lymph nodes. The surgery was successful but what I was most impressed with was his bedside manner. While I was in recovery he came out and talked to my wife and explained the surgery. That evening he actually came up to my hospital room to check on me and when I was home recovering he called to see how I was doing and told me to call anytime if I had any questions. Before I went to Dr. Rupp I asked my primary physician who was the best urologist in Topeka and he referred me to Dr. Rupp even though he wasn’t in the Cotton O’Neil network. I am really appreciative of his care and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone with urology issues.
Dr. Rupp put me at ease during our appointment. He was very engaging during the visit. He was very well informed about the problem and answered all of my questions. Would recommend him for urology related matters.
MOST OF THE MEN IN MY FAMILY HAVE EXPERIENCED SOME FORM OF PROSTATE CANCER. I WENT TO DR RUPP, AND CONTINUE TO GO EACH YEAR, FOR EXAMINATION AND PSA. I WANT TO BE PROACTIVE IN MY HEALTHCARE. I FELT COMFORTABLE DISCUSSING MY FAMILY HISTORY WITH DR RUPP AND TOGETHER WE AGREED ON A PLAN FOR MY FUTURE CARE. DR RUPP WILL ALWAYS SIT AND ANSWER ALL OF THE QUESTIONS I HAVE AND DISCUSS ANY OF MY CONCERNS. I HAVE FOUND HIM TO BE VERY EASY TO TALK TO AND COMFORTABLE. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM, AND HAVE RECOMMENDED HIM ON MANY OCCASIONS, TO ANYONE SEEKING A GOOD UROLOGIST.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
