Wonderful doctor

Had spinal fusion neck surgery and complications of throwing up bile for weeks. Ended up having throat issues after his entry through the throat, I was choking on food and daily sickness, projectile vomiting. This created more doctor bills which I had to go to get endoscopes and a balloon in my throat samples of skin tissue from stomach and throat. He released me as soon as I told him I was having stomach issues and sent me back to work sick. Worthless and didn't want to be bothered that he can possibly have made a mistake.

I had back surgery which consisted of rod and screws being placed in 2017 and everything went great I have had no problems since and the pain is gone. Dont even need pain pills best decision I made.

Dr. Rendel was my husbands brain surgeon. He was amazing and kind. He talked us through every situation we came up against. My husband got through two brain surgeries and is with us today, we are very grateful to Dr. Rendel.

I have been in pain since Mar 5, finally being referred to a surgeon I was anxious and relieved at the same time. I was set up with an appt very quickly with Dr Rendel. He was very charming, courteous, down to earth, not in any way arrogant or acting like he was better than or "above" me. I have dealt with MANY Drs and Surgeons over the years with my husband and his illnesses and Dr Rendel was/is right at the top of the list in my opinion. He spent plenty of time showing me my MRI, explaining exactly what everything was and what it meant, frame by frame. He was more than cooperative with working with what I wanted and hearing my requests and needs. He walked me out and set me for surgery 4 days later (willing to "work" me in on his schedule) to get me on the road to feeling better, to get ready for the next surgery, already set me up for a quick follow-up, off of pain meds and other meds that I don't want to be on!! Thank you Dr Rendel!! Now, lets get this thing moving going so I can get my 2nd surgery over with before the end of the year! I have complete confidence that the surgeries will go very smooth and I can get my life back!!

I took my wife with me to the appointment with Matthew Rendel because I was informed that my condition required invasive surgery. Initially the doctor was decent and went through my scans and ultimately gave me his opinion. His tone was arrogant, his demeanor was irritated and his questions were insulting. He even questioned whether I knew what type of doctor I had been referred by. His synopsis was that he knew of a test that could more conclusively determine how to proceed surgically but he would not order the test because he is a surgeon and only performs surgery. Doctors by nature are supposed to be confident and secure in their knowledge and abilities; but when a doctor becomes insulting and negligent because of vein conceit one has to decide whether or not to proceed with said doctor. If you want to waste your time and get your hopes up for an insulting waste of your life, money and time I highly recommend seeing this doctor. If you want to be treated with dignity and respect I highly advise you seek an alternative.

Dr Rendel was our choice for a second opinion concerning my back problems. This dr was like night and day from our previous dr (Dr Hux). Dr Rendell was very caring, very helpful, and very professional. He explained everything to us in plain english, went over my MRI results, ordered more scans to get the whole overview of my issues, did a complete physical exam (which the last dr had no time for) was very gentle and very openminded. I walked out of his office with more confidence in him than I have ever had with ANY other dr I have ever seen. After seeing him ONE time, I would trust his diagnosis* and his treatment even if it had been for my child. His staff was very helpful and very sweet. He walked us out, set up an appointment and thanked US, a surgeon of his profession, thanked US for coming to see him. I honestly can't wait to get back to finish up my tests and have him FIX me. I've never had surgery before, and was so nervous about the whole idea... with Dr Rendel, I have no anxiety whatso ever with anything he suggests to treat me. Do yourselves a favor, if you need a Neurological Surgeon, get into see him and don't waste your time with anyone else!! You won't be disappointed at all.
