List of Wamego Health Center's Reviews
In the last year we have had two separate illness emergencies with our daughter that required an ER visit. The first time we were served and sent home the second time required an overnight stay for observation. The staff here is always kind friendly knowledgeable and ready to do whatever is needed to help. Our financial situation like so many others has been difficult but the staff here went above and beyond to take care of us even without insurance. To know there are still people with such giving hearts is refreshing. Specifically my daughter and I would like to mention all the help we received from Stacy Jodi Deanne Brandy Kevin Mandy Chelsie Marcy if her little hugs and thank yous didnt say it enough we are SO THANKFUL for each of you.. highly recommend care here and wouldnt go anywhere else.
The doctors and nurses have little training so if you go there for a check up or allergy they will freak out. Recommend going to a larger hospital.
The family clinic is fine and I have no issues there but as for the emergency room I had 2 bad experiences. The staff there was so rude to me always rolling their eyes have an attitude the first time my nurse let out an annoyed sigh once she left my room. Ive had to wait in the waiting room both times at least 25 mins while I was in pain. They thought I was faking my pain at one point how can you fake a pain? They transferred me to Manhattan and I was so relieved I had a much better experience there. From now on any kind of emergency I am going to Manhattan.
Great. They are attentive and take great care of patients.
Jena is a kind doctor and human being. She really cares and Im glad I got her as my pc.
They went above and beyond for my son and I. We walked in late they were about to close and they took one look at my son and wanted to help. They stayed late to help him. I couldnt find his insurance card and they let me call later to give it to them and took care of him. Thank you so much for taking care of us Great doctors office that really cares
If you dont have to go here DONTLong story short I went to the ER for what i thought was food poisoning and they misdiagnosed me with a very serious condition that would have changed my life. I went to another hospital a couple days later to find out that I am perfectly healthy. This isnt my first bad experience either. On the plus side the staff is very nice.
Billing is a nightmare. My son was admitted due to an accident which our insurance covers at 100%. I told them that night it needed to be filed with an accident code. Well it wasnt. Called in July and you cant speak to anyone at the actual hospital about your bill you have to call someone in Minnesota yet any payments are sent to Arizona. Three hands in the pot and none are communicating with each other. So I called the place in Minnesota and told them it needed to be refiled as an accident. That was a month ago and the claim still hasnt been refiled. My insurance has called and requested they refile and they still havent. In the meantime Im still getting the threatening letters because I wont pay my bill since my insurance will cover it at 100%. Do your job Wamego Its not hard to refile a claim. I know thats what I did for over 5 years in my previous job.
A couple years ago I came in to the clinic side to get a really bad infection on my scalp checked out. I understand that walkin appointments can take quite a while to get to since the doctors have to go back and forth between the clinic side and the...I don’t know registered patient side? so I was ready to wait. My mother who was my ride there was a lot less patient and understanding. We waited in the lobby for around 3 hours before I could get seen. When I finally got in I explained that I don’t have insurance since I work from home don’t make much and can’t afford it. I have depression and the reason my scalp was infected was because I couldn’t push myself to take any sort of care of myself for months. I sort of halfexplained this part and I suppose it was the only thing that stood out to the person seeing me. This person strongly suggested I “see and talk to someone more versed in this area” and go see someone else in the building. I agreed that it sounded alright but what I didn’t know is that I was being swindled into getting checked into the ER. My mom still waiting in the lobby was even more upset that I was being transferred to a different area but I assured her it would be fine because I’d just be talking to someone. That was not the case. I realized the situation I had gotten into when they had me fill out more papers and needed to put a wrist band on me. I explained again that I don’t have insurance and that I wanted to leave soon but they said they had to put the hand on me to talk to me. Well okay. I spoke briefly to someone about my depression and kept wanting to come back to my weeping crusted infected scalp but it seemed like that was the least of everyone’s worry. I told them I wanted to leave because we had been in the lobby for three hours and my ride was really angry about the wait times here. So I checked out. I never did get antibiotics but I did get a sweet check for $800 that I had to basically starve myself to pay off. I’m usually really willing to forgive and give extra chances to places but I don’t think I could trust this place with my medical concerns again after all that. It sucks that this is really the only place in Wamego.
Jenny WhiteSlough needs to find a new profession that she can be passionate about. Other staff members and patients I’ve talked to have had the same opinion and agree that she is not a nice person. The rest of the hospital has been wonderful They should get 5 stars. I give it 2 stars only because they continue to employ that DR.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
