Cancer is a scary thing, I not only have one type of cancer but 2. So this has been a challenge for my health care team. Then God truly blessed me with an amazing Dr Sarah Corn. She truly cares about her patients and makes sure that she explains everything so that we understand and know what steps to take in the health journey. She works closely with my oncologist along with a tumor board to ensure that the treatment and procedures that I am getting are correct. She has performed a couple of procedures along with a mastectomy 2 weeks ago. I can honestly say that even though I was worried about having a surgery this was the easiest one I have ever had. Along with lots of prayer warriors and Dr Corn’s amazing skills I have not had any pain and have not had to take any pain meds after surgery. I would highly recommend Dr Corn and her staff.
My son was a patient at Via Christi a year ago. He had a ruptured appendix. Emergency surgery was NOT performed for this life-threatening condition to remove the appendix. He had peritonitis and a drain was left in for almost 2 months. Two weeks after the removal of the drain he had to have an emergency appendectomy which was not done laparoscopically d/t the massive inflammatory processes that had occurred by leaving a ruptured appendix in for two months. In addition to this he ended up having 11 inches of his small colon removed as well as the ruptured appendix. He then ended up with blood clots in the hepatic portal veins (Main, right & left branches) and the superior mesenteric vein. He is still having health issues due to the treatment plan administered to him when he had this life-threatening sudden illness over a year ago now. He was also seen by a Dr. Nilhas who ended up performing the surgery two months after the initial dx of appendicitis and the drain placement, after residents were unable to successfully complete it laparoscopically. It is a miracle my son didn't die through it all. He never saw Dr. Corn in person, all he ever saw were residents, but he DID receive bills for this doctor. The only time he saw Dr. Nilhas was in the surgical suite pre op and he DID receive bills for this doctor also. He never saw him again post op, in fact Dr. Nilhas didn't even have time to come talk to the family in the waiting room after he had to complete the surgery for the residents, residents were sent out to talk to us, since everyone was expecting a fast laparoscopic surgery that ended up lasting five hours. Would NOT recommend. Go somewhere else, get a second opinion.
I was recently admitted to the St Francis hospital with uncontrolled pain. It took several days and two major tests to find the problem. At this point I was critical. Having cancer, Dr Corn was called. I knew God had sent her to me. Everything they thought might happen did not. God with Dr Corn and her wonderful assistant saw me through. I had wonderful care from her and the oncology staff on 7th floor. Thank you all for for being a part of Gods healing plan.
She just did a very complex surgery to remove my infected, inflamed, double sized gallbladder. It was an incredible job and she was excellent in communicating.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
