Had to have emergency surgery on a holiday weekend and Dr. Porter stepped in to do it. He did an excellent job and is very caring. But I have an issue with his office. His assistant came and spoke to me after the surgery. He specifically told me to make an appointment with Dr. Porter in 2 or 3 weeks to check on me. It also had those specific directions in my discharge paperwork. I called this office Monday after the Friday surgery to schedule an appointment 2 or 3 weeks out. I was told by the receptionist that I only need an appointment if I have complications. In other words, don't call again. I feel like I have been gaslit.

I would highly recommend Dr. Scott Porter. I was admitted to Wesley's emergency trauma unit following a serious car accident. Fortunately, Dr. Porter was on call and identified the likelihood of a ruptured intestine, even though this did not show on any scans, x-rays, etc. He immediately did a scope to verify his suspicion, then immediately went into full blown surgery. His follow-up care and bedside manner were well beyond what anyone would expect from an extremely busy physician. I was in the hospital a week and he was there everyday, checking on me and spending time with my family discussing care and limitations. I feel extremely fortunate that Dr. Porter was on call when my situation arose. He is a fine man and a fine surgeon.

I've only seen him twice but I don't feel the need to ever revisit him. Not a good experience with him, wouldn't recommend him.
