John T. Burch's Online Review Report Card

Dr Burch spent a great deal of time explaining his orthopedic problem in a kind and caring manor in a way the regular person could understand. My husband was truly impressed which is aFeat in itself. I highly recommend Dr Burch if you need an orthopedic surgeon.

I think he's related to a Dr John Bursch from Miami that saved my leg in 1964? Same name and same type of Dr. I hope he is his son. His father was a great human being

He was a very good doctor, nice person.

If you are hurt on the job and are having workers comp paying... I say please do not go to them because all they will do is shuffle you from doctor to doctor and guess at what's wrong with you. I was hurt on the job and w/ was denying all my medical so I went to GGC and used my personal insurance and they where all about helping me until w/ stepped in and started paying and then I was shuffled to another Dr who then sent his PA in and she hurt me even worse by do some test and when she was done the Dr came back in and didn't show me the MRI and said I want to do a SI joint injection and then if that's not your source of pain we will do further testing. I was very displeased with this Dr so I went to another Dr for a second opinion and found out I had a serious problem. GGC does not want to help someone that is on W/C they are for w/c I say this because they know the nurse that work for w/c on a first name basis and they already know what to do to get you through without really fixing the problem

Excellent, caring doctor. He hs always been there for me and my family. Recommend him to anyone.

Hip replacement was great. You see his assistant, more than dr.

Amazing service. I had been involved in an auto accident when I rolled over 3 times. Extensive Injuries to one wrist, multi breaks in the other arm and broke my knee. Hospital called Dr B to amputate my hand, he worked hard to reattach tendons,along with follow up work , I now have almost full use of my hand.

I hurt my knee playing basketball, and went to the Med Center ER, where I was told that I HAD to see the Med Center orthopedist. ( I later found out was NOT true). I saw the Med Center doctor, who told me that my multiple ligament injury was "too complex" and that I was going to be referred to UK in Lexington. I knew that Dr. Burch was team doc for WKU athletes, and had taken care of Courtney Lee. He did my surgery, and I've done fantastic. I was just released by Dr. Burch for full sports.

( I later found out that this was completely false) He told me that my "multiple ligament injury was too complex" for him to fix, and that he would be referring me to UK in Lexington for surgery! And this was coming from a supposed "sports medicine specialist". A family member suggested that I see Dr. Burch for a second opinion, and I'm so glad that I did. He has taken care of WKU athletes for over 25 years. He spent about 30 minutes with me and explained everything clearly, and did surgery within the week. I only took pain meds for about 2 days after surgery and have done fantastic. My therapists at ProRehab have been very pleased at how well I've done. I'm writing because Dr. Burch just released me to play ball without restrictions. I'm feeling essentially 100% back to full function. He is awesome! I have recommended him to everyone!!

Dr. Burch has literally been a godsend to me on more than one occasion. When I really needed a physician to spend the time to figure out my problems, he was there, and able to perform surgery on me now 3 times for different problems, in a very caring and skillful manner. Unlike several of the reviewer comments here, not only have I had tremendous results from surgery and have been extremely satisfied with the care that I have received, but also have gotten amazing attention from his nurse Shirley. She has been very helpful and reassuring always. I know from my own experiences that Dr. Burch is a very busy doctor (the good ones are !) but he and the staff have always seemed to have both the time and compassion for me.
