List of Kara Shay's Reviews
DO NOT SEE DR. SHAY The utmost rudest, and harsh clinician I’ve ever spoken to. What a waste
Had a rather long wait at my first appointment, but was very happy with both the medical assistant and with Dr Shay !
I would not recommend Dr. Kara Shay. She was filling in for my regular doctor and did not look at my medical chart. She didn't know my medical history. She did an incomplete annual physical and did not care about my chronic pain.
I was a patient of Dr. Shay when I lived and worked in Florence Ky. She was an Excellent Doctor. She was very kind and patient with me. She listened to whatever I had to say, gave me excellent care and advice, all the time. Once, when I was having surgery at St. Elizabeth , by another doctor. She was doing her daily rounds, she saw that I was admitted. She went out of her way and came to check on me. She asked if could do anything for me and did I needed anything. She told me to call if I did. That made me feel so special. I will never forget her. I wish that she was still my doctor. God Bless her.
I’ve been going to Doctor Shay for a year, and I’m very glad I switched to her. Doctor Shay is very knowledgeable and has great demeanor. I notice she listens to everything I say and is very caring. I’ve had Doctors in the past that seem preoccupied, therefore not listening. That is not Doctor Shay. She truly cares about the wellbeing of her patients. She has helped me tremendously since becoming her patient. I like that her office is easy to get to. I never wait long in the waiting room. I highly recommend Dr Shay, she is a great doctor.
Dr. Shay is a little tough to get in to, but she is an outstanding physician. She is thorough, patient, and fair. She won't order a ton of tests unless she feels they will truly benefit your health and her diagnosis. This whole practice is a shining example of what medicine can and should be.
Dr Shay is impatient, brusque, unkind, and lacking in compassion. She is the antithesis of what St Elizabeth stands for.
It takes 2 months or more to get a 15 minute appointment with Dr. Shay. I was told by the front desk person it’s because she has a high patient flow. I also asked if she was accepting new patients still because I think it’s a disservice to patients to wait so long and I was informed that she is still accepting new patients.
Although Dr. Shay is a really nice Dr. I find that having to wait 2-3 months for a follow up appointment very annoying. It is a 15 min appointment and when I inquired about why it takes so long to get in, I was told by her staff because she has a high patient flow. I asked if she still accepts new patients since I really think this is a disservice to her patients. I was told she does take new patients. I might need to look for someone with less of a wait.
I've seen over 40 doctors in the last 25 years. Dr. Shay is one of only 3 that were outstanding. My criteria for an outstanding doctor is one that actually listens to and hears me, a doctor that does not rush through my appointment, and a doctor that goes above and beyond on my behalf when necessary. Dr. Shay meets all of those criteria. She spends plenty of time with me, listens intently, hears my opinions and takes them into account and had had to go above and beyond more than once.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
