Dr Nichols was great, the surgery went very well and I woke up in less pain than I went under; also the physical therapy staff at Mayfield are awesome.

Dr Nichols is awesome. Takes his time with you, never rushes you out. Excellent surgeon. I would highly recommend

I was in severe pain with other complications and sent to the ER for by my pain management specialist. Luckily Dr. Nichols was on call that day. My surgery and stay at Anderson Mercy Hospital went very well. The pain is gone. Five stars goes out to the office staff at Mayfield Brain and Spine "Tammy". The paperwork coordination was outstanding. I highly recommend this organization. I AM BACK !!!!!!

DR. Nichols proved to be an excellent choice for me to perform my back surgery procedure. I was very happy with our meetings leading up the surgery and the actual procedure. He described in detail what would be done and the relief I might expect. Surgery went great and the result much better than I anticipated. I found DR. Nichols to be very professional toward his patients, concerned that they had a clear understanding of the surgery he would be performing and comfortable with the process. I found him to be very professional and I could not have had a better doctor for my procedure. I recommend him to any person looking for services in his area of expertise

I have had the unfortunate experience of knowing Dr. Tann Nichols for 5 years now. 5 years ago I went down with my lumbar spine so hard I was in a wheelchair. He got me up and walking. I still have pain, but I can ambulate at will. He is caring and definitely cautious about his treatments. I read where a few said he doesn’t care. I assume because he did not feel he could “help” them if their situation was not bad enough to need surgery. I think he is a conservative. I highly recommend him. As for bedside manner, he’s not one to sit down and have coffee with you, but he will be sure you understand his intentions and have always felt he spends enough time with me to understand my condition. I now have a cervical problem and fully trust his opinion to attempt to improve my lengthy fight against pain due to herniation of the cervical spine.

I don’t think this man even LOOKED at my MRI. My MRI said one thing and he said another. He kept cutting me off and seemed nothing short of irritated when I had questions written down. Forgive me that I want to ask about MY BODY. He barely listened to me and kept cutting me off. I told him things my chiropractor said about my back and he basically told me chiropractors are quacks and say anything to get your money. I informed him that according to my x rays from Chiro that I have degenerative discs and he literally said that I don’t. Like, I do. I’ve seen the x rays. He said scoliosis isn’t a big deal and that everyone has back problems. My MRI states that I have right foraminal narrowing which means spinal stenosis and he told me I do not have stenosis. I also asked if my nerves are being pinched and he was wrong about that too. Oh and did I mention he didn’t knock before he entered my hospital room? I could have been using my bedside commode. This guy is rude and brushes things off.

Dr. Nichols performed a procedure of my husband who was falling, had numbness and several other issues. Quality of life was at a low for him. Dr. Nichs found the issue via the c spine where surgery was performed and gained my husband immediate relief. Through that process of follow up care. He found additional issues where he guided us to other members would could assist. Holding our hands every step of the way to ensure that he was well care for. The team that Dr. Nichols has is wonderful and professional. .we are forever grateful for the care and help that he provided. Thank you!

Poor personality and bad manners. As an example; he doesn't even wait for the answer to his questions if he feels you are taking too long or he already thinks he knows the answer you may give. He'll cut you right off mid-sentence and move on to the next question. For someone that got into the profession of helping humans he sure seems to have an internal dislike for them. Look elsewhere!
