My brother in law went in for OUTPATIENT hernia surgery. He spent nearly 4 days in the ICU and a total of 13 days in the hospital. He is now three months from surgery and still not recovered. Dr Davenport hit At Least two arteries when placing the surgical instruments for the laparoscopic hernia repair. The bleeding became evident while still in the recovery room. He told him “he will bleed and likely need a transfusion by morning” BUT didn’t even bother to get blood ready for him until my brother nearly coded (heart rate and blood pressure dropped severely). Even after this, he still didn’t have a plan to stop the bleeding. The plan was “all bleeding stops eventually”. Well after multiple units of blood, an ileus (bowel stopped working), and injury to his kidney (he only has one), he was discharged home. Dr Davenport was fired on day 4 and we had a different surgery group take over his care. Dr Davenport also REFUSED to let me come into the ICU room while he explained to my sister what occurred. He refused after she told him I was a nurse practitioner. I would strongly caution anyone from using Dr Davenport for their surgical needs.

Dr Michael Davenport is an excellent surgeon. I recently needed surgery and found him to be professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, understanding and kind. I would not hesitate to have him as my surgeon again and highly recommend him to my family and friends. Thank you Dr. Davenport.

Dr Michael Davenport is an excellent surgeon. I was recently referred to him for surgery. I was scheduled quickly. Dr Davenport is professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, understanding, and kind. Dr. Davenport is amazing. He performed many surgeries on my father, gallbladder on me and hernia surgery on my husband. He is personable, professional and an amazing surgeon! Would highly recommend him!

Terrible that he is allowed to practice medicine. This piece of $^it killed my mom. Went in for a simple hernia surgery and died a few days later because he punctured a hole in her intestines. While she was still dying in the hospital he went on vacation. Then it took a month and a half to even get him to sign the death certificate.
