List of Balaji Kalyanaraman's Reviews
Dr. K did not explain my urinalysis results to me. He spent about 4 minutes with me, during which time he had little advice and came off as not really caring very much. He then ordered a test while also telling me the test wasn't going to show anything anyway. I'm pretty disappointed and still in pain anyway.
Dr Kalyanaraman has been very professional every time I have met with him. He is very candid, which some may find off-putting, but I found his manner refreshing and comforting. He has been very accommodating in answering questions and in explaining what has happened in surgery to my family. During my partial Nephrectomy, the procedure should have taken about an hour and a half, but Doctor stayed with the process for over 6 hours, and consequently was able to save almost all of my kidney instead of losing it entirely. I am very happy that I was recommended to see him by my primary!
When a doctor seems dismissive and doesn’t understand that attitude affects outlook which can affect outcome, or seems inordinately concerned with making you aware of how busy they are, or is abrupt when asking about a second opinion, TRY ELSEWHERE. I have no idea what his surgical skills are, and they could be very good, however, his manner and attitude were condescending and we were compelled to choose a different doctor in a different practice. When asked if we should seek a second opinion, he seemed annoyed & told us AGAIN how busy he was & said “the treatment will be the same.” New Dr. made us aware of new treatments & trials and things to do BEFORE surgery to optimize recovery. You are the consumer & it’s your health. Every patient should be treated with respect, compassion & dignity. Sadly, this doctor was lacking in this regard.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
