Despite having a preexisting condition and a referral from my primary care physician the office coded my bill as routine even with me experiencing abdomen pain and blood in my stool. Since I am 47 and not yet 50 my insurance provider would not pay any of the charge as they consider the procedure optional and voluntary based off of the coding on my bill (routine vs. diagnostic). I had a coloscopy at 38 and diagnosed with diverticulitis at time. When consulting with Dr. Anusionwu, I had indicated that my symptoms weren't as intense as they were months earlier when I first got the referral, but they had started to reoccur and that I was concerned. After seeing recommendations for screenings go from 50 to 45 and having a high school classmate get diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer I opted to stop prognosticating on the matter. Because of me mentioning that driving force for my visit the rest of my story apparently didn't matter. At that point Dr. Anusionwu determined I was choosing this as a preventive / peace of mind option. I really just wanted to make sure my symptoms weren't part of a bigger problem. After spending nearly 15 hours of my time on the phone with people at St. Elizabeth billing, my insurance provider, my general physician, and Dr. Anusionwu nothing was changed. Despite it clearly being the wrong decision the best I got from the last person I spoke to was "this stuff happens all time in the medical industry." I just wished that someone would've informed me before they so quickly scheduled me that this was considered routine and not necessary. The doctor never told me in any way that I could hold off here. Instead he just played into my fears and scheduled me. I just wished they'd let me know I would have to pay fully out of pocket. Sadly, they were more interested in filling the slot and keep cranking out the money. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere better for your next screening.

Referred by a friend to Dr. A. Caring and compassionate care provided. Answered all my questions thoroughly. My experience was A+ and I will go to him again if needed.

My experience was not getting messages returned like my issues were not important enough

I wish I could leave a lower than one star rating. I had been losing weight rapidly (30+ lbs in three months) and unintentionally. This “doctor” did an upper scope and took a few biopsies, which all came back okay. He told me to make a follow up appointment in three months; I told him that at the rate I was going, my husband and I both feared I’d be dead in three months. He called me in a prescription ...

Great dr he reassured me he can fix my problems he explained in detail treatment options took time to listen to my problems ask good questions he was very professional and caring I would recommend him 100% of the time I wouldn't go to any other dr he tfe best in his field
