List of Gateway Rehabilitation Hospital's Reviews
This is the most awful place. My husband spent three weeks there. He made no progress. He was left in soiled diapers for three hours before an aide or nurse came to change him. After being told what pain medicine affected him. They still gave it to him every six hours. This way he didn't bother them he was knocked out. He was given a wheel chair for a much shorter man. He was to tall for the chair and the bed. They would not get him a larger one.I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. It is like being in a prison. You can't leave your room, go to a table to eat lunch, or even go out the front door.I wouldn't let my dog go there, let alone any human being. The staff is rude and very uncaring. They can't even give medicine to patients when required.
Top notch team. Very professional and courteous staff. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for therapy.
I spend 2 weeks at Gateway i couldn't walk when i went in and was walking with a walker in only 4 days....The staff and OT and PT were amazing I recommend them to anyone who needs therapy and Dr. Mook listened and explained everything so you understood what and why medicine was given to you....
My mom just spent 10 days in this facility and I was not impressed therapist and day nurses were great. The care at night is subpar leaving my mom to wait up to 45 minutes to be put back in bed after using the restroom. The front desk is rude and talk down to you and act like you're trying to break into a maximum security penitentiary except for one older lady to act like she really cared about helping you.Her caseworker didn't keep me informed and there were three different times she asked me to be there at a certain time and never showed up for the meetings and kept me waiting as high as two and a half hours to see if someone was going to talk to us, it even happened today when she was released we were supposed to talk to a doctor the doctor never showed up and she waited two and a half hours almost to get out of that place so no I would not recommend this facility to anyone if you're thinking of taking a love one there or having them sent there don't, your family member would probably get better care if you send them to a kennel
Margie and i went to gateway over 20 years ago Jennifer Taphorn was in charge of an aphasia group that was once a month small group that was nice for Margie since she could understand since there was not a lot of excess noise usually had good snack and it was so nice of Jennifer to have this We met other people and learned about other groups Margie passed away a little over 3 years ago but our time here when it was important to do things was a memorable and special time and a very valuable time in our life together
My 85 yr old mom recently broke her arm and had to have surgery to replace part of her arm and shoulder and needed rehabilitation. She needs full time care to do everything at this point. The care there for the most part is excellent. Like all places they are stretched pretty thin at times. I am also very happy they are allowing limited visitors at this time so I could help care for my mom. They provide great therapy usually 4 times a day which helps the patients recover quickly. Their OT’s are some of the best.My mom can not hear very well and it seems some people would go out of there way to try and help her understand and some not so much. My mom is older and this is the longest she has been away from my dad in 62 years. She was scared a lot of the time, image being in a hospital, alone and having people come at you and not know what they were saying and doing. The majority of the staff worked with her and made her feel comfortable.Yes, I would recommend Gateway again.
I regret coming here for care. This place staff do half asked care, rude and you have strangers going in your room appreciate or not. I would not recommend this place for a loved one. Cause they won't get the care they need.
Please don't send your family members here. Fall risk protocols are not followed, they will leave them helpless in a wheelchair in the middle of the room. The "doctors" don't review medical charts and proscribe medication that will send them to the emergency room. Which is great for them because now the bed is cleared and they get to claim a 7-10 day turnaround.
I spent 2 months at this facility in early 2021, and the place is fantastic. I had a stroke in late January, and these people were just fantastic. Physical therapists were kind and extremely knowledgable. They made a difficult time much much better for me.The food was good, the physical therapists knew their stuff and were kind, and the whole staff was fantastic.
Not so happy memories, my husband had a double stroke in February. After two weeks of his stay at Gateway he showed no improvement. One month later, he was homeless and moved to different facility 81 miles away his family one way. I was told I didn't have a choice today because Veteran Administration stopped payment and he needed to leave today. The case manager told me maybe in two weeks, he could return. During my husband's stay he had a couple of good nurses and his share of not so good nurses. To the point he was taken to emergency room, when he pulled out his feeding tube. Now I have no choice but to cancel his doctor appointment that we have been waiting on for two months. Due to covid-19 he will be in quarantine for 10 days. If I could do it all over again, I would stay away from this place.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
