I was referred to Dr, Smith, who had seen me while I was in the hospital. Because of insurance requirements, he could not perform the surgery. Now that I have new insurance, the surgeon who did my surgery is charging $300 for my post op care. I can't afford this. I am in pain and even though my new insurance approved Dr. Smith, he refuses to see me. I asked his office what I am supposed to do and they just said he will never see me because someone else did the surgery. I didn't know doctors could refuse to see patients even though the insurance company approved it.
Knowledgeable, Nice, and explained in detail what was going on with my vision. Great guy.
Great place to get help with your injuries.Dr and his assistants are awesome.I have received honest and direct medical advice and help to try and avoid surgery and get back to a better life and activities.I have tough insurance to get approval for needed medical treatment and they even helped with that painful process and delays.I wish I had found this doctor earlier but grateful for his helping me with my injury now.thanks again
Best reconstruction spine surgeon in Orange county. His team at orthopedic specialty institute went above and beyond in helping me regain spine stability. I had 2 failed laminectomies due to a fall off a ladder. Dr. Smith took my case, saving my life. I had complete L3 to L5 fusion, lateral and posterior. Surgery was 6 hours. His PA, Monica, nurse Rachel, and Dr. White, took my broken pieces and made me whole. At 47, I had lost the use of my bladder, was using a walker, had vertebrae slippage, numb limbs and feet and couldn't function as a teacher. The pain was mind blowing. Dr. Smith was caring, concerned, actively listened. Today, the I'm able to hike, teach and am starting to rebuild my life.
Dr. Jeremy Smith fixed my neck last summer, which was not an easy task. The office visits before surgery, he and his assistant, Stephan, walked me through every step of the way. The two of them as a team are the best you can ask. Knowledgeable, friendly, interested in what I had to say and how I was feeling both prior to and following my surgery. I talk a lot, and both Dr. Smith and Stephan are very patient with my questions and concerns. This kind of rapport is rare with surgeons in my experience.Next month I am having my lower spine repaired by Dr. Smith, and I am excited about finally getting it taken care of by the best surgeon for the job, Dr. Smith. I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Smith, and truthfully, I can't remember having to wait TOO long in the waiting or the exam room waiting to Dr. Smith, and I've had several appointments with him. I also see his assistant, Stephan, in between visits with Dr. Smith, and Stephan is extremely knowledgeable and so very helpful and pleasant. I couldn't be a happier patient.
My 84 yr old mother had her back surgery by Dr. Smith, due to pain in her sciatica nerves, after many visits. He promised her 90% chance of success but kept lowering the % success as visits progressed. After the surgery, he stated that there was nothing that he could of done to address her pain and told her "... get epidural steroid injection as needed for rest of her life." He forgot the Hippocratic oath ... not only did he cause harm on my mother's body but on her soul. Thank fully she found neuro surgeon that correctly diagnosed her issue and found the cause of her pain. After almost 2.5 yrs, at 86 yrs old, she is almost pain free...without the need of "EPIDURAL STEROID INJECTION."
This surgeon had the rudest bedside manner. I was seen by him for facet joint lumbar arthopathy and progressive sciatica. He had ordered an MRI and two office visits later, he had dismissed my concerns stating that he didn't feel that spine surgery was necessary and I should let him know later if I found medical care. He was the most rudest and unprofessional physician I've met with no real diagnostic orthopedic skills.
Dr smith didMy 81 year old fathers spine surgery back in march of 2017. he is recovering very well and I was very pleased with the outcome. Staff could be a little more helpful in returning calls and following up on referrals.
Dr. Smith maybe a fine doctor but the staff at this office is the worst. Yes you will wait an hour or more for your appointment and that is the normal thing. My husband as been in terrible terrible pain, saw Dr Smith on 5/11/17 and he texted the pain management doctor to get him in quickly but we need a referral first. I found out on Friday, 5/19/17 that the office hadn't even submitted the referral request. I called and had to leave a message because the person was off. I waited half the day on 5/22/17 but had to call back and leave another message. I got a call back in the late afternoon that they got the referral. Now we wait for the pain management doctor to get him in. Two weeks have gone by with my husband in extreme pain because the office staff can't do the job they are paid to do. I would pick a smaller practice if you need an orthopedic doctor. This one is just to big and the staff can't handle it. They don't care that you are in extreme pain

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
