List of Deaconess Henderson Hospital's Reviews
I worked there for 8.5 years and some good some bad. In February 2023 my brother and I had a wreck. A postal vehicle ran a stop sign and hit us causing us to hit a guide wire. The car was totaled. I was okay but my brother was hurting. They took him to Deaconess Henderson. They examined him and sent him home. He died 2 days later from internal bleeding. Had they ran more tests they could have seen this and he would be alive today. I have no faith in their emergency room. They should have kept him overnight for observation. We can't sue the government and the hospital has more money than we do.I miss him everyday. have seen this and
Yall should really put an actual campus map on here that shows you where to go to find the different offices such as gastroenterology, neurology etc… instead of just the outside of the building and parking.
Waited in the ER for 3 hours and ended up leaving because they were taking people back that had been there 10 minutes. When I asked to speak to someone in charge they told me no they were so rude and hateful. I will never take my child back to this place. Although I will say when I went a few weeks ago I had a nurse name Chastity I think her last name is Scott is what she told me and she was great. She treated me great and was so kind and made sure I was comfortable she is the only reason they even get a two star rating.
No people at front desk
Very much faster than they used to be
One star reviews aren't leading for no reason. This hospital is overall terrible. Nurses are generally good but the Dr's aren't. Deaconess in Henderson share the same values, low quality care as Methodist hospital (same location, was bought out by Deaconess recently). The Dr's will drug you and send you about your way BEFORE asking are you any better.. while being unresponsive after running hard on your chest and body for you to answer a question. If you go to the ER and have Dr Hoffman, you will know exactly what I mean. If you need immediate medical attention, do whatever you have to do to go to Evansville for care. Rather it's Ascension or Deaconess. Deaconess (specifically on Henderson) have real internal problems that seem impossible to be fixed. Again, the 1 star reviews on here are valid and a true reflection of this hospital. I would not recommend ANYONE to go there unless it's a minor problem you have (ex cold/flu, outpatient care services). NOTHING HAS CHANGED in terms of customer service and caring for ill patients
My husband went to the ER for back and leg pain with numbness in his foot. They were very fast and efficient. Dr. Chappell ordered MRI and Ultrasound. The technologist that completed each of those was very friendly and explained the tests thoroughly. Dr. Chappell and the nurses listened and acted like they cared about finding the problem and taking care of it.
The icu in this hospital is a piece of garbage! I live out of state & was trying to see how serious my father health was so I can plan to travel but nope I was hung up on over 10 times! They do not have proper equipment to handle certain treatment plans, nurses are rude & have no empathy towards family member.they talk about outside events in patients room when they should be focusing on the patient. The lack of communication skills; ridiculous. Communication skills are important in order relay messages from providers, lab result etc! They do not like to help point people in right to obtain information needed to be caught up to speed. I had to pry information out of everybody when the health n plans should be forth coming. They don’t believe in pulling the privacy curtains, blinds or doors so maintenance housekeeping can watch procedure & everything else! They sit in hallways talking about patients and family in nasty rude manners. Worse hospital in all 50 states I see why they rank number 40.
Dr. ROSS took my prostate out today. He was awesome. His staff & nurses were awesome. There went above the call of duty. I would recommend Deconess Hospital to the world.
This review is is mostly Dr. Zou. However, I will include review of the other hospital staff after I address the biggest problem we had. If I could give him negative stars I would. My father was flown to deaconess on a ventilator for having multiple seizures. He was extubated and wouldn't consistently respond to commands but Dr. Zou wouldn't listen to my concerns. When I asked why he didn't order an eeg or mri to make sure he was okay, he told me I don't trust doctors, that I was trying to take over my fathers care, and then he quit my fathers case. We were flown hours from home fora neurology work up just for this neurologist to do nothing but read the initial head ct from the hospital we came from originally. Additionally, he updated in an encounter note that my father needed to take keppra twice a day but he never actually updated his rx. Our discharge instructions from the hospital didn't specify how often to take it and this lack of action in his basic roles as an MD resulted in my father being hospitalized for having more seizures. He is rude, egotistical, and doesn't care about your health. Another review I have is about Dr. Ibrahim. He was the hospitalist assigned to my fathers case while he was in the icu. The day he was extubated, he came in and started touching my father while he was completely off sedation but was still ventilated and woke him up and got him agitated before the respiratory nurses were ready to extubate which made the process more difficult and uncomfortable for him. Then 10 hours later he walked back in the room and asked if he was still sedated. Uhm I’m sorry but if you can’t look at your patient and identify if he is sedated by observing the obvious signs in the room or you can’t read the chart before you come in the room you aren't doing your job. how can you make well informed decisions if you are not well informed? So after that, I fired him. After talking to the nurses, one even told me that they felt like he was incompetent, that he shouldn’t be seeing patients, and they wanted me to speak up about it so that things would change. Overall, I would never recommend this facility. I will NEVER consent to being a patient there or allow any of my family that I am power of Attourney for go there either. I would never recommend this hospital for anyone no matter the problem. I saw major professional problems all the way from the administrator to the housekeeping and kitchen staff. They have some great nurses who are stuck there but overall this place is terrible.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
