Have had 2 neck fusions and he done them both in Lexington KY. Would definitely recommend him to everyone.
Best neurosurgeon ever sorry he is leaving removed a brain tumor others thought inoperable gave my husband two more years brain tumor never returned
Done my bfs 2 surgery's most uncaring rude and bad doctor my bf got an infection dr Phillip's ignored 67 pages from the hospital and my bf was I septic shock .worst doctor ever
Dr. Phillips is very caring and concerned about my pre and post surgery condition. His workmanship is showing immediate results. He takes his time and explains everything throughly. He also has a nice sense of humor. His staff is excellent exspecially Amanda who helped me with a lot of questions.
I appreciated Dr. Phillip's straight forward attitude about my need for surgery. He explained it clearly and concisely so most of my fears were allayed. My recovery has been mostly pain free and I am grateful I was "assigned" to be his patient since I didn't know anything about neurosurgery prior to this issue. Thanks Dr. Phillips!
I have suffered with chronic back pain for twenty five years and had two prior back surgeries before meeting Dr. Phillips. When I came for my first consultation he listened carefully and reviewed my MRI. He explained with detail what my options were and gave me a chance of what option to take. I chose to do the lumbar fusion in which was preformed in October 2019. As of today I am doing very well and I give credit to Dr. Phillips for his expertise and his knowledgable staff. Dr. Phillips is a professional whom cares for you as a person and his promise was to give me a quality of life back without pain, in which he has. I would recommend him to anyone who needs any time of spinal surgery. I have returned for my last visit after four months and my spinal fusion all looks well, with no further visits needed. He is a great neurosurgeon in which I highly recommend.
I'm not healing as I should from a discectomy. Dr. Phillips ordered an MRI. In spite of several calls to his office Dr. Phillips hasn't called me with the MRI results in 4 week days (the MRI was on a Friday)after the procedure. It's very frustrating. Even if the MRI didn't show anything wrong he could take a few minutes to tell me that. If there is something, we're wasting time getting it fixed.
I cannot rate Dr. Gabriel Phillips, L2-S1 posterior fusion, 2014, Put all of my trust in him and I'm so disappointed, He was not concerned of how I was feeling as long as he thought his fusion looked great. Little did I know he used BMP Infuse, an off label, non FDA approved product that has serious side affects and causes permanent damage. To anyone who had a fusion by any doctor who went against the standard of care, you may want to find out and check your post op reports and see if your doctor used the same thing. I need to have a complete reconstructive surgery due to him. So much for trusting your physician!!!!!
I had spinal fusion surgery of L4,L5 and S1 due to spondylolisthesis and spinal stenosis in 2014. THe worst experience of my life. Surgery on a Monday. Excruciating pain for four solid days. Hospital staff dismissed it, nothing done. Finally Dr. Phillips goes back in at the end of the week because he said there was a "shadow" on an x ray. Come to find out that a piece of hardware was left loose in my back. I had nerve pain for a good 6 months. Now I'm having back trouble again. Come to find out a piece of hardware has broken off. I'll have to have another surgery to get it removed.
I saw Dr. Phillips for terrible lower back pain. I do have a slippage in L5 and L4. He is going to have me do PT to see if it will help. I may have to have surgery but I'm glad he doesn't just jump to surgery as the first option. I realize if a nerve gets involved then I'm sure I'll have to have the surgery. I think he is very professional and knowledgeable. He has a nice attitude. His PA was excellent also.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
