Dr. Joe has been taking excellent care of me for 30+ years. Outside of my family, no one has provided me with as much encouragement to lose weight and carefully monitor and treat other conditions. If he moved his practice 100 miles away from Lexington, I'd find a way to still be his patient. I cannot recommend him too highly.

I’ve seen “Dr Joe” for decades, and he’s a genuinely caring, and highly skilled physician. All of the Family Practice Associates physicians are top notch! I will remain with them ‘until death do us part’. ??????????????

Dr.Joe is a brilliant and wonderful physician. His level of concern and compassion is remarkable. Dr. Joe and his colleagues at FPA have taken care of my wife and I for many years now. To their credit we are indeed alive and well!

Great Family Doctor. Outstanding Bedside manner. Only problem is everyone thinks the samething. Hard to get an appointment. He is always booked. Most people will not see an other doctor (there are 12 others in the office) because he is the best, and worth the wait.

I've seen Doctor Joe for 4 years. He is the nicest doctor. He takes his time and doesn't rush in and out like most doctors do now a days. He's thorough, explains everything very well. He genuinely seems to care about his patients.

I have been a patient of Dr. Joe for many years and have been quite satisfied that he give thoughtful and good quality advice. I especially appreciate the fact that he listens carefully, does examinations and considers the patient's preferences after sharing alternative courses of action when giving such advice. In my opinion, I, the patient is fully informed after visiting Dr. Gerhardstein, and I like that!

He might be ok with younger people, but Im in my 70's and he got down in my face and talked to me like I was a dog. When I tried to explain my pain he would interupt, get in my face, and explain it for me like I wasnt describing it right. I'll tell you what you will do and you'll do it" he said. I came out of the visit completely shaken and scared.
