List of Thomas C Knopp's Reviews
I finally found out what was going wrong with my body! Dr Knobb was very straight forward with me and was very supportive of getting things in order! He also was very friendly and seemed very compassionate!
Dismissive, not thorough, rude. I saw Dr. Knopp over 4 years ago and yes this review is overdue but the time was needed to understand what was really happening and receive proper treatment. I saw Dr. Knopp when I was in college. I had severe symptoms of chest pain which my primary care doctor felt was GI. Dr. Knopp felt the symptoms were related to GERD and started me on PPI such as omeprazole and other medications. I changed my diet and did all the lifestyle changes. During this time I was also overcoming serious depression and anxiety from high school and being treated by a therapist. On more than one occasion Dr. Knopp suggested my symptoms were related to my mental health and when finally after months I had no relief (I was still having stabbing chest pain attacks multiple times a week that would last throughout the night) at my last appointment with him he pointed to my self harm scars and said “maybe you should do something about that”. I did not go back to him. I continued to have severe pain throughout college and PA school, I was young and providers like Dr. Knopp made me doubt my symptoms and how I felt. I finally was in so much pain I went to another GI doctor, she believed me. She ran labs Dr. Knopp did not, checking for autoimmune conditions, celiacs, IBD, and allergies. She did a HIDA scan and found my gallbladder was not functioning. I had it removed and this will be the first year I have been pain free since I was 16, I am now 25. And as a medical provider myself now I can say Dr. Knopp did not treat me well, he was not thorough in his assessment and stopped after exploring one diagnosis. Referred chest pain is a symptom of gallbladder issues and should have been considered. And never should you ever stereotype your patients or speak to anyone the way I was spoken to regardless of the fact that I was 18, a female, a college student, etc. Providers can say I don’t know, and he should have so I could’ve gone forward in my care and found someone who could help me. Rather than blaming an unassociated illness (for which I was receiving treatment and my psychiatrist and therapist felt were not related to my severe pain) and causing me to doubt myself and lose trust in medical providers.
I had an upper scope done last week. After reading some of the negative reviews, I was pretty nervous, but my experience was fantastic. Dr. Knopp was polite, straightforward, and his staff were all super-friendly and seemed very competent. It's one of the most positive doctor's visits I have ever had. Thanks again, everyone!
He is great but his office manager is a horrible person who likes to play God with your information and doesn't respond to medical records requests even when it was the doctor asking her to do so.. screaming at me about how important she is compared to the patients.. very sad.. my husband is dying and she thinks it is her responsibility to judge us and interfere with our lives knowing that his time is short.. horrible..
Dr Knopp was so kind, caring and truly compassionate. He saved my life. I tell everyone who needs gastroenterology services about him.
I saw him for years and I don’t know how this doctor can have good reviews. At first, he was nice to me on a surface level. Then when my case became more complicated, the mask came off. He was impatient with me when he was the on call doctor. He also kept insisting I take a medicine I continuously told him caused me pain. He tried to prescribe a medicine one isn’t supposed to take if they have a history of blood clots, which I do. I’m not sure how much he pays attention to his patients’ medical history. He eventually grew tired of me and dumped me on another doctor. If you go to that office, ask for Dr. Schindler. I never saw him as a patient, but he was nicer to me in one on call phone call than Knopp ever was.
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Knopp for 3 years now. He has always taken his time with me at every appointment and has always talked to me personally after each procedure I have ever had. He’s very personable and listens to all your concerns and will do everything he can to fix any issues you make have. Highly recommend this Doctor.
I like Dr Knopp. He solved my problem right away. At first, I wasn’t sure, but I am very pleased with my care. The girls in the office are very nice (Megan), one who schedules procedures, front desk.
I am very satisfied with Dr. knopp. He spends enough time with you. He explains things well. Allows your input. Very professional. I was able to get in quickly and received treatment that worked to solve my problem.
Dr. Knopp is outstanding! He really cares about his patients. His staff are caring and very helpful.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
