Highly recommend this urgent care. 20 min wait or so. Provider was super friendly and personable.

My wife had an apt to see a physician by the name of Dr Jayaraj Sindhis of the UK's Turfland site at 10am today. They had us wait in the parking lot until called. All well and good as these are extraordinary circumstances but the Dr's office needs to actually call back in order to see the patients at their slotted appointment times. Anyway, the apt time comes and goes with no callback. At the half hour waiting mark we called again to ask what was wrong. Told to wait until called...we waited. After sitting there for an hour and a half...well past her 10am apt she goes to the door. The Dr's people tell her she lost the apt and to reschedule as the Dr's office claims they tried calling 4 times. I can unequivocally state that NO ONE called. YES! I am calling them a liar. Are they racist? Did they not call an ethnic sounding name?

I'm going to give them a 5 star. I had an appt. today and was given the run around on the phone by the Place I was actually supposed to be. So I was never seen there but I did get to registrations the building is very nice and the registration staff was quick, nice and helpful.

Apparently giving an accurate account of your visit here is not allowed on this site, so I will just say that I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Assembly line medicine, all about making money pretty sad, went for a badic physical got almost no exam, they drew blood its been a week and still no results, I would suggest you find a regular doctor not a warehouse of inexperienced physicians, health care shouldn't be a frustrating experience, but thats what you get here...move on!!

Any visit to UK downtown stirs anxiety. Today, I went to the new-ish Turfland Mall location of the Dept. of Dermatology. The location is convenient with plenty of parking. I was in-and-out in about 45 minutes, from registration to the completion of my visit. The staff I encountered was great, friendly and communicative. A quick, easy experience.

UK Family and Community Medicine doesn't tell you when you make an appointment, that it operates like an HMO and they assign you doctors with no input from you, and prescribe medications without talking to you about it. You never know who you are going to see when you go there, so there is no doctor-patient relationship or trust. It is not the kind of medical care I expect at UK. They put your medical records online and sometimes you can get on the site and other times not. They make appointments for you and put the info on their portal and if you are not online looking at it, you could have an appointment you don't even know about. I have tried to figure out how to close my portal account but I can't seem to do it. I have doctors in other UK clinics who have given me excellent care, but this clinic is totally different. I don't like being treated like a commodity to be used in whatever way they see fit. I will say it is new and clean.

Dr. Gottschalk has been my primary care provider for over a year now. She is the best of the best. She is always welcoming and makes me feel at ease during any doctor appointment I have. I highly recommend this facility. There is free and abundant parking. The providers are some of the best in the family practice realm and overall there is a positive atmosphere. I have never had an extremely long wait in the registration line & don't have to wait for my provider's nurse to bring me to my room. I have to say one of the best medical experiences I have had has been with the Turfland HealthCare facility among the others here at the University of Kentucky. I will continue to come back and see Dr. Gottschalk among other providers for years to come. Their residents are also well trained and can provide equally as good care as the providers who have completed medical school and their residency.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Well about parking, registration and the dermotology dept dept.We found eaay accessible parking as soon as we got there and when I went in for registration I was seen promptly then I went back into the Dermatology Department to be seeing and was called back within 2 minutes. Today i was seen by APRN White. She was amazing! She had another nurse practitioner with her but i cannot remember her name, but they were both great. Wonderful bedside manners and really listened to what i had to say. Not only did she listen but she was very caring of my issues. I asked about a specific medication i never dreamt that my insurance company would cover but she told me she preferred to put me on this medicine. She said she may haveto "kick and scream" in order to get them to cover it, but she will fight to the end for me! I was almost blown away by the results I got in todays visit. I thought for sure it being my first visit to a derm that they would try to make me start off slower on the treatment I need. That wasnt the case at all! I recommend ANYONE and EVERYONE to this clinic if they need to be seen by a dermatologist! Oh, and if you are lucky you will be seen by Kate White nurse practitioner. I highly recommend that u request to be seen by her if you are able to. I don't know about the rest of their derm team because i believe they also have at least 1 board certified doctor, but she is as good as they get,,,hands down!

Dr Christian Lattermann of UK Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is one of the best physicians I've ever encountered. I had a rare and tricky defect in my left knee that with 2 surgeries was corrected. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, warm, and caring. Because he is an assistant professor of Orthopedics, he often has residents or fellows that sit in on appointments or are involved in the surgeries, and every one of them I have met has also been just as personable. If you need a knee, shoulder, or elbow worked on, I can't recommend Dr Lattermann or his staff highly enough, or the UK Healthcare System in general.
