Cafeteria is a put-off. Been there often. Many of the staff at various stations have sour-puss expressions on their faces and give off a "wat u want?!" vibe -like you're bothering them. Many staff behind the grill will ignore customers until finished with whatever single task they're working on. Never seen someone running a cafeteria grill who couldn't multitask,.... until I came here. Food is otherwise just ok, though prices have recently gone up. The cashier (calls everyone "Sugar-boo") is a sweetheart. With real restaurants within EASY walking distance of this hospital, better to go elsewhere.
Full disclosure: we are young (22 years old) and my friend was taken by ambulance here in Lexington from pre existing conditions mixed with alcohol. The nurse was so inconsiderate, not patient whatsoever. This is quite literally her job. My friend has a history of many personal things and as i was listing them off she seemed as if "oh this is just a drunk college student with a drunk friend". I called 911, I rode in the ambulance, I recited her history, I know what is going on. My friend is terrified of needles and when an IV was brought up she was afraid and in a very vulnerable state, she still was not refusing an IV, but extremely nervous. I was trying to talk to her to explain it was going to be okay, and the nurse walked out and slammed the door within a matter of a singular minute without any words. You could hear the smack taking outside the door. It's absolutely insane to think if I were a mother and this was my child in the hospital all alone, that the nurse would just slam the door in the accompanying parties face. This nurses name tag was not totable as her jacket was covering it the entire time, but her name was along the lines of Tittany T. It stood out to me her initials where TT. When I made it apparent I was frustrated with how they were treating my friend, she started to be seemly nicer. This is beside the point. This women was absolutely rude as all get out and genuinely does not deserve the respected title "nurse".
This hospital is not a good place at all it sucks and there not friendly at all there Road and they don't care how they act Torch the people that come in and they will not even let you wait in the waiting room and they didn't even know that I was the person's only ride here and back home they don't care at all ......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My husband (who says he is never sick, even when he is, and would only go if he ABSOLUTELY had to) has been here twice in 3 days because the pain in his back (exactly where his kidney is) is so bad. 1st visit, they told him they "didn't wanna radiate him" amd sent him home with some naproxen (aleve.) I get it, there's a drug epidemic and might have assumed he was an addict. (a simple urine screen would have determined he wasn't, but ok.) 2nd visit, they basically tell him same thing. He asked for an imagery test to make sure something is not wrong, and they tell him they won't do that unless he has been in that amount of pain for atleast a couple weeks. (Which is a straight up lie. I've had kidney stones 4x in life, with pain exactly how and where he has it, and they did one on the first visit, EVERY SINGLE TIME. They offered him narcotics, WHICH HE TURNED DOWN, (what addict does that) and sent him home with stronger anti-inflammatory. How can you know if something is seriously wrong with someone if you don't even attempt to know why they are hurting, or do proper tests to attempt to find a cause. He was told that there are probably millions of people walking around with buldged discs and don't even know it. What kind of diagnosis includes "other people have same problem" or "you have to hurt for weeks before we will try and see what's wrong?" I'm leaving the review because of something happens, I want proof they did NOTHING!!!
I'm rating my experience with the emergency department medical staff. I came here when I had covid and could no longer breathe. Walking in at 5 am Saturday morning there was no other people in the waiting room. This never happens in California where I'm from. It's typical to spend hours upon hours to be seen. I couldn't catch my breath and within 2 minutes of being there they were fitting me with a cánula for oxygen. Instant relief! Every medical person I encountered was kind and helpful. The security officers I encountered on the other hand were not helpful. My daughter dropped me off at that said Emergency. When I walked in I said, I have covid and I can't breathe. The officer said, the entrance it up the hill and pointed me out the door. Walking "up the hill" almost killed me. It wasn't a long walk, but I had run out oxygen. I almost passed out in the dark on the way to the door. I've never been treated so coldly as I was by that officer. So zero star for that heartless person. It's a shame that people are treated with so little feeling because of covid.
My daughter was admitted last Friday evening, I arrived at 9:30 am on Saturday. She was there until Tuesday afternoon. Everyone we came in contact with were amazing!!! Even after grabbing a bite to eat I went back upstairs and told my daughter how nice the women in the cafeteria was!!! I told my daughter if I get sick I'm coming here and I live in Cincinnati!!!
I chose to come to Lexington because I couldn't find a surgeon that was qualified and would take my insurance in Louisville. So, I had surgery there yesterday. The outside of the place looks old and somewhat run down. The first waiting room was very small and was made even less accommodating by the people asking about the CovidHoax at 2 locations just inside the entry. The first girl that helped me get registered was very nice and helpful. The first nurse I had was awesome. I was slightly annoyed that had to answer the same set of numerous questions because this is a teaching hospital. My surgery started more than 35 minutes past the scheduled time-not sure why. The worst thing was the last nurse after the surgery. She was like Nurse Ratched. Very mean. Next time, I will just stay in the bigger city, Louisville, where I know the hospitals and their staff are nicer.
This is absolutely the worst hospital in the Lexington-Fayette area. Take your business to a REAL hospital like Central Baptist or UK. The healthcare here is horrible and the workers from the nurses to the administrators lack the empathy needed for health care. I wouldn't go here if it was the last option, I'd just die.
Went in for psychological evaluation for my daughter after getting punched in the face and was reported to cps. Asked for a specialist for a glaucoma shunt that may be be infected or stopped up because my daughter had been complaining of eye irritation and the RN nurse told me that the eye has nothing to do with brain. Which is absolutely false because we all use it every day to live and it is indeed connected to the neural synapsis of the brain. The RN Insisted on phycology when she may have only needed help with her Eye. Maybe the nurse needed to be a tad more observant on the patients file, and have actually read the patients file instead of watching me and scolding me on how she was a single parent, which only invoked my insistence on her seeing a specialist, which she declined. Instead of contacting DR instead of me being referred to psychologist with a daughter who has been complaining of irritation for a few weeks now. Now my daughter is inpatient pyscological instead of specialist. 14 people 4 beds in operation, i think better could have been done. Thank you though for pointing out the beer I may have had at home and 30 $ cab when i came in ambulance.
This is my second surgery here !! They made me feel like a queen !! Such great bed side manners !!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
