List of Raquel Vasquez's Reviews
Will not be returning. After I got home and expressed my concerns to my spouse, whom like me, is also a healthcare professional, he instantly agreed that it was a huge red flag for her to say the medications she wanted to prescribe had no negative side effects. NO medication is 100% safe. Every patient is different and all can experience possible adverse effects. When I asked if she was familiar with MTHFR gene mutation which my daughter has, she curtly said yes and that she thinks it has nothing to do with my child’s behavior….My child who is being seen for behavioral issues, and MTHFR being a vitamin deficiency that can emotional instability and further adverse effects to emotion and behavior when left untreated….which she believes isn’t a connected issue….either way we were left very concerned about her practice and my SO said he’d rather pay cash with another professional then return to her office.
Should have checked reviews before driving over an hour to see her. First issue was how I was spoken to and they way she fixated on a past issue that had already been addressed as well as lack of understanding. Though she may have been practicing for 20+ years, it doesn’t seem like she has ever spent real one on one time with patients who have severe behavioral problems. She goes by whatever she learned 20 years ago seems to stick to it for every patient she has (I saw reviews here where she states the child acts out on purpose, not because it’s a medical issue and I was told this as well). Biggest red flag? When I questioned the medication. We had already tried one and witnessed for ourselves the adverse effects of it. When I asked if the second medication had the same effects, she immediately said neither had any negative effects. Me and my spouse both agreed that was very wrong as no medication is 100% safe or without side effects. He said to cancel her immediately.
She talked really hateful to my grandson I stopped taking him to see her I found wellsprings in Somerset and she changed his meds and he’s like a different kid would not recommend Vasquez
Dr. Vasquez is very knowledgeable in her area of expertise. The wait wasn’t very long and her office staff was very nice. I would recommend her for anyone needing a pediatric psychiatrists. She doesn’t push medication and does well in speaking with children and understanding them.
Please go elsewhere. The office staff as well as Dr. Vasquez are rude and unprofessional with very poor communication skills as well as no desire to actually help the patients. She spends no real time addressing issues and only seems to want to push meds and her patients back out the door. The office staff is terribly rude with the exception of one pleasant, younger receptionist. It is impossinle to receive any bit of help or compassion from anyone there. They are certainly not there to provide a service in a caring, professional manner. They are an office which should be there to support parents and caregivers in helping children with their issues, but seem to only be there for the $$$. Please avoid and take your child somewhere more caring and professional where their needs will truly be met. If zero stars were an option, that is what I would have chosen.
My son has been seeing Dr. Vasquez for 3 years. She takes the time to listen and very caring. I highly recommend Dr. Vasquez.
Very rude. Her only explanation for my sons adhd and oddand ocd is he wants to act out. So her idea of fixing the problem is punish him let him do nothing except eat sleep and go to school and one parent parent the other children in the home and the other only deal with my son I dont see how separating my family helps. Then she yelled at me shes a psychiatrist not a therapist. Like really lady still you have a job to do and after 17 years of doing this your think youd have some helpful tips
If she can't figure out that her thermostat is set on cool and calls a service repairman to fix her heat because cold in her office-ha!! That's your first sign she's an idiot! Then to tell me that my child's ADHD symptoms are because my child enjoys those behaviors?! She talked down to me and was very unprofessional. She's a physiatrist, you would think she knows how to talk to people with respect. Not a good experience at all!
Poor experience! Pediatrician recommended Dr. Vasquez's opinion on medication. She was very unpleasant and unprofessional in her overall demeanor. Plus, her only one parent rule is ridiculous, if there had been a tough decision to be made I believe both parents are much more credible and part of healthy home. She needs to work on her customer service skills and ability to communicate in a much more professional manner, especially for someone with as much education as she has! I would travel.
Some visits we have waited over 2 hours to see the doctor. The staff is snotty and rude.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
