Dr. Jurige is extremely competent. He is helpful, explains things in plain English, and takes time to answer questions. I have been going to him for several years and trust him completely. I hope I never have to choose a new urologist. His office is efficient, fast, and runs on time, unlike many other medical offices.
Did my HIFU procedure. He and his team did an excellent job during procedure and after. They kept me in the lope and addressed all my needs and concerns. They are doing my follow up appointments ect. They earn a 6 star!
Great Doctor who knows his area of expertise inside and you. Louisville is very lucky to have him here.
Treated my late husband for several years, constantly used a TURBT procedure to remove "precancerous cells" that turned out to be stage 4 bladder cancer that metastasized into bone, liver, and kidney cancer. Not once did he biopsy the cells nor do a biopsy of his bladder. I would give him zero stars had it have been an option.

Always on time, great bedside manner.
Today is the 3 year anniversary of my fathers death. My mother still mourns for him every day. Dr. Jurige treated my Dad for over a year for blood in his urine with antibiotics and even scoped him once. Never did he run a simple CT scan. I begged my Dad to get a second opinion, afterall what would it hurt? By the time Dr. Jurige cheked a CT of the bladder, it was too late. Dad had stage III bladder cancer and the bladder and prostate were removed (by another Physician and Hospital, by the way). Dad was an otherwise very healthy 79 year old retired gentleman who had to endure the pain of surgery, chemo, radiation, and finally death....at the hands of Dr. Jurige. He never even apologized to Dad or the family for missing the diagnosis.
He is not very thorough and as noted above in a big hurry to leave the room.
Started w/ John's father he retired been w/ John since his beginning, a great guy & Doctor
I am the third member of my extended family to be diagnosed and treated for Prostate Cancer by Dr. Jurige. We are all survivors and doing well. He ensures that his diagnosis and treatment plan is in the best interest of his patient, and all options are clear and understood. I have been treated my numerous Drs. in the past, and Dr. Jurige has the most pleasant bed side manner I have ever experienced.
very good - very caring
Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer about 14 years ago at the age of 79. His primary care doctor referred him to Dr Jurige because his PSA was elevated. Dr Jurige performed a biopsy and determined Dad had early signs of prostate cancer. It was still confined to his prostate and was treatable at that time, but Dr Jurige told Dad that at his age he would most likely never have problems with the cancer since it was slow growing. Therefore no treatments were done, but Dr Jurige examined Dad every 6 months and monitored his PSA. Several years later, at Dad's request, Dr Jurige referred Dad for a complete body bone scan which showed that the cancer had not spread to his bones, even though his PSA had risen to a very high level (over 50 compared to a normal level of 4 or less). At that point, Dr Jurige told Dad that he did not need to see him again. In the three years after that, Dad's PSA rose to over 500 and his prostate cancer spread to most of his bones. After much pain over several months about a year ago, a pain management doctor discovered Dad's prostate cancer had spread extensively to his bones and he referred him to a cancer specialist. They are treating his cancer to reduce the pain, but it is incurable. Dad's life will no doubt be cut short because of this, when it could have been cured when discovered in the early stages. I blame Dr Jurige for that and believe he has been negligent in the care for my Dad. He failed to refer my Dad to a cancer specialist or treat his cancer when it was treatable. We have absolutely no confidence in Dr Jurige.
