List of Dr. Neal J. Prendergast's Reviews
I have been struggling for a year and hoped that First Urology would be able to help. I was greatly disappointed. Dr. Prendergast barged into the exam room and continuously interrupted me while I was explaining what was wrong. He was incredibly condescending, belittling, and rude. He was dismissive of my issue and questions and only spent 3 minutes in the exam room with me. As someone who works in healthcare, I have never experienced a physician so dismissive. Whatever you do, please do not see this doctor.

After messing up three of my surgeries (which I discovered after going to my father’s urologist, a trusted and fantastic doctor, when she informed me that I had undergone three surgeries that did more harm than good for my condition), Dr. P showed up to my follow up appointment completely unprepared. He had looked at zero of my papers and relied on me to let him know the results of a test he had run. He ignored my reports to him that I was following a correct diet and was eating well (I’m a 22yr old female) and instead told me that I had “failed” because I came just short of drinking 2L of water a day. When I asked him about concerning labs I got back, he interrupted me and said that the lab company didn’t know what they were talking about and instead told me to just drink water and I would be better. When I told him that it isn’t normal for a 22 year old on a low oxalate, low sodium diet to get 17 10mm kidney stones, he said I probably just wasn’t taking good care of myself.

First Urology will gladly charge you for a consultation but will not call you to schedule a procedure. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy paying for services never received.

People either love him or hate him. I tried hard to stick with him but finally moved to another physician. His "bedside" manner is not the best, but what finally made a difference is that I lost confidence in his opinion -- he arrived at appointments unprepared, jumped from one conclusion to another in consecutive appointments, and was demeaning when asked any questions about why. I could not be happier with my new urologist.

Awful. Has a superiority attitude towards his patients. Was rude and demeaning. Would never see him again nor recommend him to anyone.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
