I had an emergency kidney stone situation and was seen within 5 minutes, a couple minutes later I was getting an x-ray, two minutes after that Dr Soergel was briefing me on my options and had already secured me a bed for the recommended procedure. He thoroughly explained what was happening, what I could expect and quickly sent me on my way to the procedure after his staff sent in the necessary rx’s. I highly recommend. Thank you Dr Soergel!
He had a bad day
After having 3 appointments and been to all of them the doctor never showed up and was never scheduled to be in the office on those dates. Spends little time with you- not even 5 minutes. DO NOT schedule with him
Went in for a kidney issue discovered on CT during hospital stay. He presented me with all options, the outcomes of those options and let me decide without pushing me in a certain direction. Made my choice easier knowing everything as he laid it all out.
I do not recommend Dr Soergel because he was rude and condescending and I felt he had no respect for the patient. Will not be back.
I would NOT recommend Dr. Soergel to anyone. He is rude and rather unprofessional.
After the first kidney stone procedure was fail, ended up the the ER waiting 13 hours for the urologist to come. Second procedure scheduled for 6 am. Waited over two hours in a surgery center filled with screaming babies getting dead tubes. Lost tons of sleep, money from missing so much work and patience. This surgery center is a total circus!!
This is rating of overall practice. Had a lithotripsy that did not work, spent 13 hours waiting for the urologist on call in the ER. Spent 3 more hours waiting the next week for another lithotripsy. Very disrespectful of our time. No apologies. We will be switching practices.
Will never see this doctor again. He placed a stent with only one available time per week to have it removed and has all patients arrive ar the same time.
Dr Soergel is great. I believe that my first doctor, who performed a TURP surgery (reduction of the prostate), probably messed up my bladder neck; I now have had six outpatient surgeries in two and a half years to remove strictures (scar tissue) that blocks the bladder neck. Dr. Soergel has tried several different approaches to prevent the strictures from forming but without success. He is next going to try a new procedure, so he is not just accepting my condition. He is concerned about his patients and I have tremendous confidence in his abilities. I feel very fortunate to have him for my doctor.
Ladies who want to support your husbands thru a vasectomy DO NOT go to Dr. Soergel. He will not allow you to be present and has an egotistical and chauvinistic attitude. I asked to be present and he said he did not allow this because one wife fainted. One. I explained to him that i was a medical profession and that I should be present for this minor procedure when in fact my husband had been present for both of my invasive c-sections. After he wanted me to wait before going in. Very insensitive.
I am only leaving this review for this doctor to save anyone else from the trauma of seeing him. He took the appt for my urologoical condition then came in and said he doesn't treat that. Really wouldnt even try to offer me anything and kept gesturing outside to an office where there was a woman "who does that sort of thing" and shrugged when I asked if they even take my insurance then left. He made it quite clear I was the wrong gender to get seen. I left in tears.
I had a much needed Holep procedure done by Dr. Soergel on 10/26/17 resulting in an excellent outcome! Left the hospital the following morning with no catheter. I had almost no discomfort, absolutely no pain or soreness! Some bleeding during urination but only for the first five(5) days. After nearly 3 months incontinence is gone, sex is great, and in general, life is much improved. Had a great experience from beginning of diagnosis thru-out the entire process. I highly recommend Dr. Soergel.
What a jerk. Never again.
My first contact on my first visit to the office on Healthcare Blvd was with a receptionist who was less than welcoming, as if what she was doing on her cell phone was more important than a prompt, friendly greeting. I waited a few moments and she looked up tell me rather abruptly to sign in. As a new patient, however, I imagine that most first time patients come in expecting to be received first by a friendly, imformative person. I commented that I was a new patient and unfamiliar with signing in immediately. It was offputting and I felt we got off on the wrong foot. As I thought about it later, my reaction was not unresonable a perhaps not unique.for first time patients. I came in expecting one kind of reception and it wasn't there. I must say that the rest on the staff was exceptional. Coming to the doctor is not without a certain amount of stress associated with an unknown outcome of the visit, so each patient needs at the very least to feel he is welcomed, respected, and listened to by all. That's my approach to almost everyone I meet for the first time. I hope this is helpfull for patients and staff alike.
shouldn't have to wait so long to be seen.
