List of Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System's Reviews
Never have I experienced such charitable and compassionate care. If you are looking at this wondering if you should go - do it. When you find the right state of mind - and they will help you find it - you will walk out a better, more hopeful human. The staff at Lincoln Trail possess the patience of Job and display radical compassion on a daily basis for those under their care. From techs to nurses to doctors to therapists, everyone there is absolutely on your team and in your corner. You are not alone. These are good people who care. This place is a blessing. Do not hesitate to go if you need help. Finally, as an added bonus, the food is FANTASTIC! You will not lack for sustenance at Lincoln Trail! The nutrition staff are no exception and cook with their hearts - and it shows!
They are very good with the kids and understanding. I’d send my back here if they ever need to go. Thanks!
Even though I only give this facility 3 stars, some of the nurses and techs are 5🌟. I give it 3 stars because it is not 1:1 therapy, it is group therapy. I felt the group therapy was more related towards drug addiction than other mental health issues.
Most staff are very good and professional, the food is very good and I got the treatment I needed. Thank you.
I was here in August 2024 for 11 days. NEVER again. At first, they refused to take me because they couldn’t help me even though I had suicidal ideation and they were going to send me home. It wasn’t until I begged them for help that they took me. My family had little to no communication with staff, and there’s almost no therapy involved in your stay. I didn’t have a single session with my therapist the whole time I was there. She told my parents that she would give me workbooks on multiple things and never did. All of the groups are on paper work and they’re not interactive or helpful. We do more schoolwork than therapy-6 hours a day, 5 days a week, and have to beg to go outside. We only get a 10 minute phone call every other day only certain days of the week, and nothing more is accommodated unless you lie and don’t get caught. I was put into a quiet room for crying over not being able to speak to my mom. I was also given laxatives when I said that I DONT want ANY laxatives. I was tricked. I was having some GI spasms and given milk of magnesia. (A saline laxative). I have had some struggles with eating and they made me drink 3 cups of ensure, along with the 3 meals I was eating every day. They do not inform you of anything about discharge until the day before or the day of. Overall, this place is dehumanizing, and you WILL go through a honeymoon phase because of the trauma. I don’t know about the IOP or PHP or military programs, but for SI, or anxiety/depression, do NOT send your child here, and do NOT choose this place for your care. Communicare, Rivendell, The Ridge, and The Brook are places that will be better for you or your child!
I considered admitting myself, so I bought and brought some comfort items (A blanket and a plushie), and was told I would not be able to keep them for "Sanitary reasons." When I told them I was no longer comfortable with being or staying there they took my meds away from me and threatened to have me detained for 72 hours since I didn't want to go behind the locked doors, due to PTSD I have from the way staff in this place treated me when I was a kid. I asked to leave and they repeatedly refused to let me leave, when I was only in the lobby, and ended up getting 5 staff members to surround me, I felt very threatened and it gave me an active PTSD attack, that I was still suffering from the day after, I went home and cried, the entire process made my mental health *significantly* worse than it already had been when I was considering being admitted. Plushes and blankets are *not* sanitary issues in places like these, they can be checked and washed, that was simply a power play from the staff and them wanting to remove any comfort and make their patients feels worse
I really have nothing to compare it to. Lincoln Trail is a five star rehabilitation facility.
I was nervous about how my stay would go at a mental health facility, well let me say this place was absolutely wonderful from top to bottom! Every staff member I encountered was respectful and kind. The food was good. The facility was clean. I would go back if I needed it. 10 out of 10! 100%
they lost all my clothes , shoes . they told me if they ever found them they’d be sent back to me , they never did .
Lincoln Trail saved my adult son's life. He was an addict and had nowhere to go. He went through a detox program over the holidays and was safely cared for until a long term care facility was available. The entire staff was kind and supportive, from admissions to release. I wish I had all names because they all deserve credit. But I do know Forrest Poole was one of my son's therapists and he communicated with me as much as he legally could, given my son is an adult. Mr. Poole and the rest of the staff have my respect, with what they deal with every day. I especially appreciate their commitment given it was the holidays and they were there, every day. I'm glad we have this small facility in the community. I hope my son never has to go back to an acute care facility or otherwise but if he does, I am glad LTBH is there. A big thank you to all the staff!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
