This place is awful my dad was a fighter and wanted to live even fought and recovered from being on a ventilator at St Elizabeth. He was getting better but not fast enough so insurance would not let him stay any longer so he had no choice not even 2 days after being transferred here he was bullied and belittled by the staff they ignored him mistreated him to the point he said he just wanted to die because we couldn’t get him moved fast enough no one should get treated like this they stole his Will to live and it makes me so mad he was an Army Veteran and it’s sad that he felt so helpless and hopeless he has never been a complainer it breaks my heart that he had to pass away here where no one cared about him. Do whatever you can to keep your loved ones from coming here I wish I could have done something to keep him from being sent here .
Patient care is not a priority. Better attention to staffing and quality of care is needed. Patients shouldn't have to wait an hour or more to have a call light answered. Poor treatment by some nurses when complaints were made. This place needs to be investigated.
It’s a great place the staff is great and they really care about the patients here. I was basically stuck in a hospital bed 24/7 when I arrived here the physical therapy staff here helped get me back on my feet and a head start to recovery I couldn’t of picked a better place to start my rehabilitation, I would definitely recommend this place if you are thinking about a rehab center for you or a loved one.
Update:My daughter's case manager took my name & number and gave it to the CEO. She promised he would get back with me in regards to my complaints. She explained he was out of town at a meeting, but assured me she would ask him to make contact.Well to my surprise he called. He was attentive and appeared caring. He held a phone conference that included himself, the Dir. of Nursing, and the Interim Dir. of Quality Management & Dir. of Infection Control. They patiently listened to my complaints, answered my questions and explained protocol & procedures. The CEO & the Dir. of Nursing gave my daughter and myself their personal contact numbers. We were told to contact either of them with any further incidents. After speaking with them, both met my daughter and I later during my visit after our phone call. Both have been in their positions for less than six months. Both seem to be very caring, very concerned people. The Dir. was called several times this week due to incidences with a couple of bad nurses. The CEO & the Dir. of Nursing were prompt in taking care of the situations immediately as promised. The CEO told us he didn't want to be a good hospital. He wants to be the best. He said he knows he has to hear the good, bad and ugly to achieve this goal.He and the Dir. of Nursing, so far, have not made us or our complaints feel unwelcomed. Our concerns were quickly addressed and solutions were made.It is my hope that the CEO's goal of being one of the best hospitals is well on the way under his caring, compassionate leadership, and the Dir. of Nursing's management of the nursing staff. My daughter and I found the therapists, CNA's, and housekeeping very thorough, thoughtful and friendly. Hopefully, they will get rid of the bad apples for more rewarding experiences, for content, comfortable patients.I changed the rating from a 1 star to a 3 star rating due to upper management's positive response. Will be monitoring future reviews for signs of continued improvement.Original review below:Staff at this LTACH hospital are very rude and condescending. They are also very unaccommodating for out of town family members. No lists of hotels/motels in the area, and no discounted rates for family members of their patients. When calling for status reports (once or twice a day), the reception staff seem to be in a hurry to get off the phone, and sound bothered by calls. My daughter is extremely unhappy there, and so is my family. Don't allow your family members to go here. Will be making my first visit soon next week and will update this review if needed.
Bruce Ritter-Clark has been here for 52 days he come in with COVID he was put on the ventilator and nobody thought he was going to make it and look now he will be leaving to go to physical therapy tomorrow. All Nurses and Doctors are great here and i would recommend this hospital for anyone who is bad sick and thank you to physical therapy who has helped him get up and get him walking some and keeping faith in him.
some of the highlights for me was I was taking care of very well by the nurses especially one of Alicia she was in my room all the time checking on me and talkin to me. therapy was there everyday and they explained every step of the way for me how to move my leg house use the Walker how to exercise I mean it really really help for now and for future. the food is very super I think I gained 30 lbs while it was in here. of course I needed to gain some weight. but I love the food. nurses with very quick to respond whenever I push the red button we're going to come into the room. I wouldn't change a replace any of the nurses they were all wonderful. I wouldn't change the therapy persons either. even the cleaning lady to keep and clean my room every day set and talk to me for a moment everyday. besides the pain everything was great. I'm glad I came here. thank everyone at the hospital for helping me. thank God i get to go home

My stay at Select Specialty was excellent, all the nurses were phenomenal they explained what each of your medicines were and the side effects. I had the Whipple surgery at another hospital but the care I received at Select Speciality was beyond great! Scott with therapy was excellent, he kind of pushed you to help your body to heal and Shae,Raya,,Majid, Debbie were all so excellent, I loved the Doctors as well, they were all professional and genuinely care about their patients I had a wound vac and Kate done a wonderful job packing it and it has almost closed from being 2”wide . I feel this hospital is s great place to Take your loved ones, you certainly won’t be disappointed , it’s a hidden gem
My husband, Eddie Cooper, was taken to Select Specialty Hospital on June 18th and was unable to do almost anything. He was on a ventilator with a trachea. He couldn't talk or walk. The doctors, therapists, nurses and aids have been great. My husband can now walk with the help of a walker. The trachea has been taken out and he can now talk. He's done a complete turn around. They have taken great care of him and I am so glad that we brought him to Select Specialty Hospital.
Staff are wonderful. My room was cleaned daily. Food was okay but menu needs to be updated.

Horrible place. Do not send your loved ones there!!! Smells of urine, feces covering toilet, place needs condemned. Nurses are rude and did not take care of my mother's wound while she was there. Upon release gave no details to place my mom Was transferred and they said her wound hadn't been properly cared for. Complained to director, who made promises that went unfulfilled. Reporting to health inspector.
My mother was just transferred there after spending a month in the ICU. Her heart rate is in the 150s. She needs her trach suctioned and they are not doing anything. She’s going to die there. It’s the worst facility!!! Staffing is limited and they don’t care at all what happens to people. That place needs to be shut down
Most of the staff go above and beyond. They are nice and understanding... Make your stay pleasant.
The staff was very friendly and professional during my stay. They explained all aspects of my care. My safety and recovery was their number one concern.
