List of Ananth Kumar Md's Reviews
My 91 year old mother followed Dr Kumar from Richmond to Winchester because she liked and trusted him. Mom had a 1:30 appointment when we checked in at 1:20, the receptionist said "he isn't here, he should be here close to 1:30", I thought that was a little odd. Mom was called back at 1:30, we thought well he's here. Long story short we sat in a freezing room waiting until 3 o'clock Mom said "Let's go!!" Between 1:45 and 3 we were told 3 different stories from his staff of why he wasn't even in the building, plus his nurse said she had text him several times and he hadn't responded. I'm aware he's a cardiologist, there could have been an emergency at the hospital BUT there is staff there, he could of had someone contact his office and explained, its called respect. We won't be back
My 92 year old mom was prescribed meds for AFIB by Dr. Kumar after leaving emergency. She called his office to find out why such bad side affects and if he could help in some way. The rude receptionist would not even ask the doctor and eventually hung-up on her. Mom tried calling all day after being hung-up on and this pitiful receptionist then had put all calls on a leave message mode. My mother liked Dr. Kumar and decided to remain with him for her heart problems, that's why the five stars. It's to bad people like this gives his office a bad rap by displaying such uncaring and hidious behavior. Because of this, Mom has to find another doctor. If she can't expect his people to reach him when she needs his attention, then what good is he to her? A 92 year old with heart problems certainly doesn't deserve to be treated this way.
He saved my life. I do anything he tells me
One of the rudest individuals I have encountered in a long time. I didn’t even finish my visit. He would cut me off while trying to talk and answer questions. He was short with me when asking me questions and when I asked if he got my test results he rudely said if all you want is test results I can give them to go and you can leave. I did exactly that for my results and left. I wouldn’t take a rat to him. I sat for 2 hours for nothing. People came in after me and went straight back. Horrible horrible place!!!
Absolutely one of the rudest doctors I’ve ever seen. He had no bedside manners what so ever. As he would ask me questions he at the same time would blow under his breath. Also he can’t make eye contact that in itself tells me all I need to know. Never will I be back.
The doctor is great. His nurses are extremely nice.
I moved to the Winchester location from Richmond. I will go wherever Dr. Kumar is. I trust him completely with my heart health and to be honest with me!
All Business and knows what he is doing. He will answer your questions and is direct, does not sugar coat things and gets to the point. Just what I was looking for.
worst experience I have ever had! got a clot in my left leg back in 2017, went to Baptist Health hospital in Richmond and he was the cardiologist on call. I was unsure about having the procedure and was seriously considering not going through with it, he basically guilt tripped me until i gave in and had it. Then they didn't even give me enough pain meds and i was awake the whole procedure. He kept telling me ''oh quit it you're fine'' even though i tried to tell them that i was in alot of pain. they just kept giving me the minimum amount of pain meds. this experience has traumatized me to this day! i will never ever have him work on me again! Id give a big fat 0 stars if i could!
Good doctor really bad bedside manner

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
