Horrible bedside manner. Not very attentive. He didn't even take the time to go over MRI scan. His nurse just said "Oh he looked at it." Would not recommend.
This guy does not listen to anything the patient says. I have an issue that started in 2006 after knee surgery that caused some nerve issues. It was originally diagnosed as dystonic movement problem for no other reason caused by misuse of a tourniquet. The recent issue is more that if I put my leg, i.e. hip, knee or ankle, in an awkward position I get additional cramping or stiffness in my leg from the knee down. He is hung up on a movement disorder problem. Even though he claims to be a movement disorder neurologist, he insists that I need to see a doctor in Houston, Tx or Birmingham, Al. This is the second time he has said this, and I went to Houston. Bottom line is he doesn't listen to what the patient is telling him. Have you ever tried to you ever tried to get an appointment with a specialist in another town without seeing them first? You almost can't.
Dr. Kidder was arrogant, rude and closed minded. He was my husband's regular neurologist and my husband had complained of walking difficulties for several years. Dr. Kidder prescribed physical therapy. As the problem became worse, a rheumatologist suggested that we see Dr. Kidder, explaining the possibility of kidney cancer causing the leg problems and hoping he ordered some neurological testing. Dr. Kidder refused to listen, refused to do any testing, and stated he knew the problem was diabetic related, and again said he needed exercise. Due to this lack of cooperation, a second opinion appointment was made with an Our Lady of the Lake neurologist. It took two months of waiting but this wonderful, caring Lake doctor did the requested testing and found my husband had abnormal antibodies probably caused by his kidney cancer, and treatment would be infusions. The rheumatologist was correct. Dr. Kidder was totally wrong, totally uncaring, and our valuable time and money was wasted.
Very attentive. Explains info well. Patient and kind
Dr. Kidder has always been very nice to me.I have been going to him for 5 years. Dr.Kidder has always been very concerned about my problems. I have always and will continue to recommend him.
He is a good doctor. He treated me when no one else could. I recovered and regained controlled of my life and im very grateful.
One star is too good! He didn’t really explain exactly what he was doing but I did try to follow the instructions that he did give. At times he would tell me to move and I wasn’t sure what he wanted and he said, “Ma’am Ma’am what are you doing?” I was trying to do what he wanted. At one point he had me move a certain way and I jerked a little because it hurt (needles in my leg and electricity going through it) and he got a bit loud with the “Ma’am Ma’am what are you doing” comment and added “ I don’t want to get stuck by a needle. You are putting me at risk” with a more than perturbed tone about it. My comment back was that I didn’t want to be stuck with a needle either. So, he said to me “Well you made the appointment. What did you think this was going to happen?” Seriously??? I have never had this type of test and did not know for sure what it entailed! He, on the other hand, CHOSE this profession and knows exactly what this test entails (needles) Arrogant, rude, unempathetic!!
The first part of my testing went very well. The lovey lady Lauren/Eunice was very personable and compassionate. I did tell her I was anxious about the procedure because other people had told me they hurt. She said the it would be uncomfortable but nothing too awful. She explained what she was doing along the way and she was right – It was uncomfortable, but I was able to get through it just fine. She was key to making the experience what is was. Then Dr Kidder came in. He had me sit up for a minute and used what looks like a tuning fork on my feet and did a little needle pin type thing from my feet to my legs. All that went fine. Then he told me to lay down and said to move my legs when he told me. He didn’t really explain exactly what he was doing but I did try to follow the instructions that he did give. I felt pin pricks from time to time and then he would tell me to move my leg or foot. At times he would tell me to move and I wasn’t sure what he wanted and he said, “Ma’am Ma’am what are you doing?” I was trying to do what he wanted. For example, he told me to move my foot toward his hand when I had no idea where his hand was (I was laying down and could not see it). At one point he had me move a certain way and I jerked a little because it hurt (Remember needles in my leg and electricity going through it) and he got a bit loud with the “Ma’am Ma’am what are you doing” comment and added “ I don’t want to get stuck by a needle. He, on the other hand, CHOSE this profession and knows exactly what this test entails (needles) so I believe that is his choice to be “putting himself at risk” of getting stuck with a needle when he is adding electric to it when in a patient. He knows it will hurt and when something hurts there is an automatic reaction to jerk/jump/move. A reflex is something you don’t have a whole lot of control over. I told him he was a Jerk. He said he wasn’t, and I disagreed because there is no reason to “fuss” at the patient for having a reaction to pain. I told him I came to the test because that is what my Dr. ordered and I was following her orders. Believe me, I didn’t WANT to take that test but I need to get to the bottom of what is causing my feet and legs to go numb. I certainly didn’t want to deal with an arrogant insensitive Dr on top of it. I really got the impression that Dr. (and I use that term loosely) Kidder really does not care about his patients but is there for a paycheck. His bedside demeanor was deplorable. No Empathy or compassion from this person that I could see at all. He gave me the option of doing the other leg but I told him they both feel the same so I figured he would get the same result and I preferred not to continue with him. At that point he basically told me his result were all normal and he wanted to do labs and left the room without any further instruction. I got dressed and walked out to the nurse’s station because I was not sure if I was supposed to leave or what. They told me to go back in the room and wait for his instruction. He never returned but sent one of the nurses or office staff in with a piece of paper with s recommendation for lab work to be performed and a follow up appointment in 6 months. I told her I would get with PC regarding this because I won’t be seeing him again. I thanked Lauren/Eunice (they call her Eunice because that is where she is from) for being so kind and she showed me the way out. My problem was not so much the test itself but his arrogance, demeanor/attitude and lack of empathy or compassion. Maybe a comment like “this might hurt but try not to jolt if you can help it” something other than the “MA’AM MA’AM WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” and “You made the appointment, what did you expect was going to happen?”.
The NeuroMedical Center South Baton Rouge 3 days ago NEUROLOGY B. GLENN KIDDER, JR. MD I would say if there was a minus star rating DR. B. GLENN KIDDER would receive one. In 2014 I had some medical issues that I saw Dr. April A. Erwin in Neurology she went out of her way to make sure I was taking care of. I would recommend her anytime. I called in to make an appointment with her December ...
I would say if there was a minus star rating DR. B. GLENN KIDDER would get one. Very bad doctor. When in for help with my symptoms he looked at my MRI and I asked him to share with me the results he took the CD out handed back to me and said everything is ok. He gave me some sample meds. I had a question about them and he said just read the box you can figure it out. Then I asked him about my symptoms what he thought and he told me Mrs. ---- I DON'T HAVE A MAGIC WAND gets up walks out to his nurse she comes in to give me a sheet to make a follow up appointment with a PA. Never comes back in the room. I was fuming. HORRIBLE DOCTOR HE'S A JOKE. NEVER NEVER AGAIN.
