Cordel Parris Md's Online Review Report Card

My fiancé went to this doctor, because she was desperate for help due to debilitating symptoms, but her primary's cardio referral was a month out. In search of a sooner cardio appt we went to Dr. Parris. In preface of this review I would like to say that I am not a doctor so I cannot make educated comments on how this doctor performed their job, however I do know enough to know a bad job when I see one. Arriving into office, techs took an EKG and placed results paper on counter of the room. When Dr. entered the room she did not read the EKG results(nor did she for the rest of the visit, however it's possible she read it after the visit had concluded). Dr. did not listen to heart with stethoscope or do any other part of basic cardiac workup. Dr. Did not discuss any symptoms with her or ask any questions. Dr. read her chart and immediately blamed Ativan and Klonopin (both as needed's) for the problems, she informed her that she stopped taking these medications months prior because it lowered her blood pressure too much. So when her immediate blame-game failed, Dr. then accused her multiple times that she smokes weed and that is the cause of the symptoms. She informed the Dr. that she does not smoke due to mental health reasons, nor does she ever care to smoke. And despite showing Dr. multiple drug tests showing clean results including several very recent tests, Dr. did not believe her. Her primary doctor referred and wanted cardiologist to confirm or deny Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome(POTS) diagnosis. The Dr. googled POTS while in the room with her and said it was a fake syndrome that was a different syndrome renamed so that insurance companies could make more money. Dr. refused to do a simple orthostatic laying-to-sitting-to-standing test to mimic tilt table test(official test to diagnose POTS) and told her she was rude because she insisted on the cardiologist following up on the primary's suspicion of POTS. Dr asked her father to come into room because Dr was "uncomfortable" because she was "not listening and was very rude" (I've removed paragraphs here to fit reply, please see reply to see more) She has currently gotten a POTS diagnosis and is on a treatment plan that has significantly boosted quality of life by reducing severity of symptoms. No thanks to Dr. Cordel. I've read reviews that this doctor is very kind and thorough with her practice, and I hope that all other patients do get that care from her because I only want people to be healthy. But, I do believe that a contributing factor to the poorness of this visit is my fiancé's age and gender. Even with female doctors, young females seem to be dismissed by doctors so often that it's pretty much expected at this point that you are going to have to get multiple opinions from multiple doctors because most doctors do not listen to the patient. Especially in the diagnostic process of any type of uncommon disorders. Edit due to reply: You say my review sounds personal as if our health isn't the most important personal thing there is Although I am not the patient it does not mean my review is invalidated unfortunately. I am however my fiancè's advocate because of this very reason. Instead of doing damage control you'd rather double down by calling out semantics between thc, weed, marijuana. Whatever you wish to call it. There were recent drug tests to prove it was not an issue yet the doctor persisted that it was. I understand that the topic of POTS has received a boom since the correlation of COVID. But POTS has been coined since 1993. It has received extensive research. You would assume the doctor would research it if it's the reason of concern for the primary doctor I've had to delete paragraphs from the original post to fit it in Google reviews and more to add this reply but if you wish to find the full review please look at other doctor reviewing sites because I will be posting it anywhere I can.

Dr. Parris is one of the best in her field! Not only is she extremely knowledgeable, but she takes the time to explain everything in words that are easy to comprehend, and she NEVER makes me feel rushed. As long as I am under her care, I know that I’m in excellent hands! Her staff is also amazing, and everyone is always pleasant and friendly. I highly recommend Parris Cardiovascular Center to my friends and family!

This Doctor is nice enough. But, perhaps not the correct person to go to if you have a complex problem. There are big differences between veins and arteries.

Dr Parris is AMAZING. she's funny , really easy to talk to and it's its obvious she truly cares for her patients.. I wish she was my PCP💕 Thank you for being you

Irresponsible!! Neglectful!! Never gave authority to refill blood pressure medication. I’ve called many,many times and so has my pharmacist. She NEVER responded to this date!I would NOT recommend her to anyone!! For your own health I would choose a DIFFERENT CARDIOLOGIST!

My experience with doctor Paris was not good, she showed lack of concern in a certain area and unprofessionalism.The staff is immature and unprofessional.

I found Dr Parris to be a great physician that will go the extra mile in helping her patients. I believe she cares enough about her patients to actually spend time in doing a through check while listening to their concerns. Great doctor
