I am still pinching myself to be sure today wasn't a dream! Meeting Dr. Calegan was like coming out of the desert the last 27 years seeing my 27 year old daughter and 24 year old son's pediatric neurologist and entering the Promised Land! The secret is out now - I will tell anyone who wants to hear that it is a blessing from God to have a neurologist who knows so much about nutrition!

We visited Dr. Calegan's office in July 2021 for my father and received a diagnosis and treatment plan for Parkinson's Disease. Every step of the way Dr. Calegan and his office staff were patient and kind and explained what they were doing and why. This made a very challenging process less difficult and demonstrated a level of care for my dad as an individual and a patient. He answered every question and spent a great deal of time with us in the examination process as well as the explanation of medication and next steps. I truly appreciated his time and the manner in which he delivered the diagnosis to us.

Dr. Calegan, although Healthgrades has him listed as a concussion specialist, yesterday he told my wife that he didn't know how to check her for a concussion, he was a parkingsons doctor. He appeared to be upset when he walked in the room. She was in a auto crash and diagnosed with a concussion at the ER. He didn't like the way she described some symptoms (terminology). We have an attorney, which was not relayed to him, he was annoyed at the extra time she would require, although he was charging a retainer fee for it. She was told that he could do nothing for her and when she got upset, he recommended she see a psychiatrist. She was having a bad day from not sleeping well the night before and he showed zero concern for her feelings.

Into husband is a patient is a patient of Dr Calegan’s. Dr Calegan always has time and patience with us when we go for visits.

After almost 2 years of suffering with classic symptoms of Parkinson’s, I finally got the answer from Dr Calegan. After spending almost an hour(don’t recall ever having a Dr. doing that!) examining me, interviewing me, he took the time to inject positivity into the situation. He assured me, that with the proper diagnosis, and starting the proper treatment, that I would be able to live well with PD. He answered all my questions, was thorough and efficient as well as kind and compassionate.Being an RN, and dealing with physicians for 35 years, I can tell you, when you find one who is at the top of their field, along with genuine care for his patients, you are indeed fortunate! Even though it’s a 2 hour drive, I look forward to my treatment program with Dr. Calegan. I can’t thank him and the NMC of Baton Rouge enough.

Polite,listens,informative and most of all you do not feel rushed. We are blessed to have him as my neurologist.

Dr. Calegan was very thorough in his assessment of my diagnosis. He explained everything very carefully and explored all options for treatment concentrating on mind, body, and soul.

Dr. Calegan took the time to listen to all my symptoms concerning migraines, I never felt rushed. He performed a thorough exam and explained all his findings and path forward. I felt like he was very honest and clear on his recommendation. It gave me a good sense of trust. I highly recommend.

Dr Gerald J. Calegan II, is otherwise know to me as “My Hero”. After 6 weeks, 6 different doctors, and 2 trips to the emergency room, finally Dr. Calegan recognized and diagnosed what was wrong with me. Once disgnosed he immediately started me on the treatment needed and the needed consultation with other specialist to begin management of my condition. THANK YOU Dr. Calegan!
