St. Joseph Hospice's Online Review Report Card

I just wanted to let St. Joseph’s know that Tracy, Anisha, Ursala and Chester are amazing human beings. The kindness they have shown me was everything to me. While my husband was at home under their hospice care his nurse Ursala was everything. I was a basket case and when people talked to me or tried to calm me down I couldn’t hear a word they were saying but when Ursala would talk to me I heard every single word she said. Her voice was so soothing and calming. Thank you everyone at St. Joseph’s for the love, and compassion that y’all all showed to me and our family.

Very incompetent and uncaring nursing staff. They are clearly overworked, understaffed, and undereducated. The only thing good about this place is Ms.Susie, the woman who does bathing. The nurses they sent out multiple times were unable or unwilling to treat or diagnose UTIs which were painful for my dad until the end. The nurses also never showed up with their own instruments and once even put a thermometer foe under the tongue in my dad’s ear and when I said,” That is absolutely not that kind of thermometer” she didn’t even wipe it off and immediately put it under his tongue. We had to constantly call for medication and refills and the right supplies were never brought on time. If it weren’t for Ms.Susie I would give one star or less and if everyone were like her I would be rating five stars. I would never use this place in the future and unfortunately most home health and hospice care in Louisiana is not much better. Terrible. Terrible.

St. Joseph's Hospice/The Carpenter's House did a good job of taking care of my mother for the two weeks she was under their care. My mother's care manager nurse Brittany was wonderful. When my mother started getting worse, nurse Mary Alice was excellent as she did everything possible to get my mother over to the Carpenter's House for continued hospice care. At the Carpenter's House, nurses Tiffany during day shift and Brittany during night shift provided my mother with excellent care. Tiffany was so helpful, considerate, and thoughtful in helping in all ways possible to keep my mother comfortable during the time she transitioned. During the transitioning phase of life, my mother was made very comfortable and was at peace when she passed. CNA Margaret was excellent as she truly is wonderful at keeping your loved one clean and comfortable. She is a hard working lady and makes sure everything is to your expectations.

My brother Dale Landry was in your care for only a couple of days but your loving care was amazing. Our family can't thank you enough for being so kind to us and him. God bless yall.

Excellent service - I found the office staff and therapeutic staff wonderful.

I was hired as a caregiver for a 98 yr old woman. During that time the family used St. Joseph Hospice care. The staff was extremely nice & helpful with questions I had with my little lady during her final days of transition because unlike my other clients this little lady was NOT going peacefully she fought it every inch of the way. Days of her not sleeping, constantly pulling her diapers off & her Christian attitude was gone. No matter what time I called them they were always helpful, concerned and nice. I would highly recommend St. Joseph to ANYONE looking for a staff who genuinely cares. And our nurse, Cassandra, was an angel. I also had the pleasure of meeting Dori when I took care of my cousin, Sindy, who passed in June. Sindy passed at 10:30 that night and Dori stayed with us until the funeral home came at 1:15am to pick up my cousins body. St. Joseph is the BEST!!!

My husband was a patient for 1 week prior to his passing away. The personnel were the most fabulous people you could ask for during these times for both the patient, the caregivers and guests. Thank you so much.
