In the last twenty years I have had three corneal transplants and have visited more than six different specialist in an attempt to retain my vision in one eye. A friend who is an opthamologist told me the only surgeon in LA who could handle my case was Thomas Heigle That doctor even called to get me an appointment with Dr. Heigle. I have never been to a more thorough, patient, and exacting opthamologist ever. Dr. Heigle has performed two difficult corneal transplants on me and removed a cataract from the transplanted eye. He is heads above any surgeon I have seen in New Orleans where I live. I choose to travel to Baton Rouge to see the best. My sight is worth it, and Dr. Heigle is the best I have ever seen.

This is an excellent Corneal Specialist. I have been to many opthamologists and corneal specialists in the last twenty years in an attempt to save the vision in one of my eyes. I was stung on the eyeball by something it started to get better but told Dr heigleit still felt like something was in there turns out I have some kind of infection Dr heigle did a biopsy today I have to go back n see him tomorrow I really like him he is going the extra mile to figure this out saw 2 eye doctors beforehand who were very rude Dr. Heigle has the best bedside manner and really cares about his patients he even called me at home this evening to see how I was doing love him thank you so much Dr. Heigle for caring so much

I had a rare condition where the white portion of my eye grew over the cornea. In a very delicate surgery, Dr. Heigle was able to cut away the offending cells, and glue in new tissue to correct the issue. He is a very professional, skilled and intelligent doctor and he treated my issue with great levity. My eyesight has improved greatly since the successful surgery and I have Dr. Heigle to thank. I highly recommend him.

This is the best corneal surgeon in Louisiana. I have had corneal surgery by others. There is no comparison in quality, professionalism, or success. I can see because of Dr Heigle. The transplant has lasted successfully because of Dr Heigle. Trust him.... He is the best!

I rated follow ups as excellent but he has never needed to follow up on me. He treats me for kerataconus and I can tell he really cares. He takes time to explain my condition in terms I can undersrand.
