If you’re an outspoken advocate for your healthcare and expect results, please go to a competent GI doctor who will listen to you and not allow her staff to talk down to you. I thought I saw it all when she became upset at my first appointment because I called out the truths about Louisiana, the unhealthy foods here, and how it affects the health of so many African-Americans. How dare I speak truths about the state she loves so much! This piece of a human cancelled my endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures today because I called out inequities from her staff. I refuse to let anyone treat me with disrespect. But, for her, I guess I should have laid down and took it up the tail pipe without Vaseline. Never in my GI history have I dealt with a doctor such as this woman. You best believe I won’t stop until she and her staff at Ochsner Northshore in Slidell are held accountable for their actions.

I am sorry to have found Dr Carona I found her distant and cold with little interest in any health issue i may have. Physical exam was minimal-primary care physician has conducted superior exams

Dr Carona was very attentive and seemed genuinely concerned about my problems. She was kind, personable, and professional as well. I look forward to having her as my new GI physician.

Went to Dr. Carona for the first time. Had researched many gastroenterologist and read reviews. Although there was only one review, I was convinced she was my choice. Visit was thorough and pleasant. She was kind, patient and interested in listening to me. I was impressed! She scheduled some tests and all were completed within the week. Had a procedure in which she explained everything to me. Reviewed my results quickly and addressed my concerns. I would highly recommend Dr. Carona. She is one of a kind! So glad I did my research.

Likely the best young Gastroenterology doctor in Slidell, although she is not at the best office setting (older offices, cramped, etc.) - She is a great listener, compassionate, and explores all options for symptom relief. I was not looking for a new doctor, since I was very happy with being where I was, for many years, but sometimes things happen beyond your control, and it works out in the end - I am glad I found Dr. Carona.
