VIVES EXCELLENT &FRIENDLY STAFF!!HER VERY IN-DEPTH EXAM I WAS GIVEN. DIAGNOSIS ON FIRST VISIT. GIVEN APPT. FOR SURGERY.. TOOKCARE OF PROBLEM. VERY PLEASED WITH RESULTS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VERY TALENTED MD.
Had an issue they swiftly rectified the situation. Will update after my appointment.
Dr. Vives is an amazing Dr. however be prepared to wait AT LEAST an hour after your scheduled appointment time before seeing her!
Be leary of this doctor. My experience with her as she cared for my mother was horrible. She misdiagnosed my mother for an eye disease and treated her with high doses of steroids, which took a major toll on her overall health. I had a chance to meet her at what wound up being my moms last doctors appointment with her. I couldn't understand how the numbers she based my moms plan of care on seemed to fluctuate and her biopsy was inconclusive yet she was treated so aggressively. Dr VIves was very defensive and it didn't sit well with me that her doctor seemed to not take my mom's health all that seriously. When we got a second opinion, the doctor was unsure that my mom had the disease but highly recommended coming off the steroid. At about the same time my mom asked Dr Vives to be placed on a different medicine and Dr Vives obliged. Unfortunately for my mother, she was told the incorrect dose, which after a matter of weeks ate at my mothers colon and she now has an ostemy bag. A year after being treated and being weaned off the medicine she placed her on, my mom shows no signs of having the disease that started this all off. It breaks my heart constantly that this woman, who appears over worked and under staffed (with all the patients it appears she can afford to hire more help) treated my moms health so carelessly like she was just a number or maybe even just a dollar. It concerned me the number of kids she saw. If you decide to see this doctor or are seeing this doctor, make sure you get a second opinion ASAP. I personally can't say anything nice about her from my experience and I'd give her zero stars if I could. KKi
I was referred to Dr. Vives following an eye appointment with Louisiana Family Eye care center! For three years of trying to find answers to all the neurological symptoms I was suffering from due to a traumatic brain injury. Five neurologist and a traumatic brain injury specialist dismissed my symptoms, they said everything from I was faking, I was seeking attention, or it was due to PTSD. I begged Doctors for help I knew something was wrong but didn’t know what. The pain was unbearable for three years I lived 80% bed bound. I was at my breaking point. My eye doctor listened and found some alarming symptoms he tried reaching out to my neurologist and traumatic brain injury specialist! They dismissed him and his findings that were critical. My Eye Dr Quickly reached out to Dr Vevas! He spoke very highly of her specialized training, her dedication to her patients and that she was the best in the state. Dr Vevas’s staff contacted me to make an appointment. Her staff explained how booked up she was but promised to work me in as soon as possible and that they understood the severity of my symptoms. I received a couple of update calls from her staff keeping me Informed and making sure my symptoms had not progressed! Dr. Vevas’s staff worked so hard to get me an emergency appointment. Her staff was so friendly and very helpful and reassuring. Before my appointment I was already impressed with her staff it’s so refreshing to have such an amazing skilled staff that treated you as family. Dr. Vevas was so calming, very educated, and very authentic understanding my frustration and reassuring me that she was going to send me for the MRI and MRA with contrast to finally give me the answers I had tried getting for three years! Finally a Dr with the advanced level of training not only listened to me but set in motion a medical plan of action. Her staff went above and beyond to set up the appointment and handled all of the insurance pre approval. Following the test On the way home from the MRI center Dr Vevas called me from her cell phone (it was after business hours) She explained to me that I had a carotid artery dissection ( a tear in my right carotid artery from my neck into my brain and down my sinus cavity)! I needed emergency neurosurgery! She sent me to in my opinion the best neurosurgeon! I had the neurosurgery to fix the left carotid artery dissection. The surgeon found that I also had a right carotid artery aneurism that would require an additional surgery. I had my third and final neurosurgery in October. When I called to make my follow up appointment again her staff was professional was truly concerned in how I was recovering. Again Dr Vevas was very professional yet empathetic and so happy to see that my vision was now stable, and that I was recovering so well. She always makes me feel like family, she is so dedicated to listening to her patients and finding the answers to her patients needs. Dr Vevas saved my life without her intervention and education I would have either died or had a massive stroke. As one Dr put it I was a ticking time bomb! She listened, knew I was suffering, that my symptoms were real and quickly diagnosed and referred me to the best neurosurgeon. Dr Vevas is such a blessing, I am so grateful to her and her staff and cannot express my gratitude for all she has done. 100% The best of the best!
This doctor was a nightmare for my family. She misdiagnosed my mother with temporal arteritis and after placing her on prednisone for 6 months switched her meds to something that was supposed to help and this medicine ate away at my mothers colon resulting in her now living with an ostomy bag. It took months to get copies of my mom's records and by then the damage had been done. BEWARE!! Do your research if it doesn't feel right. It's scary to think she works with so many kids. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. Terrible.

My 2 year old daughter has been seeing Dr. Vives for about a year now but we will be finding a new doctor. Every time we have an appointment with Dr. Vives we wait at least an hour because she schedules 10 appointments for the same time. After waiting hours for an appointment, the Dr. Vives barely spends ten minutes examining my daughter: she just asks if she is wearing her glasses yet, asks how often she is getting the eye drops she prescribed and tells me to make a follow up appointment. Even though she is a pediatric ophthalmologist she does not interact well will my daughter and does not seem to understand children. On top of this all her office staff are extremely rude and difficult.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
