This review is not about Dr. Hillis. He is wonderful. However his nurse, Natalynn, is an absolute nightmare. To try to get a refill from her is almost impossible. She reads your messages on MyChart (you can see when she reads them), says she hasn’t read it yet, and then writes back the next day (after two messages sent to just give an update) saying “WE ARE IN CLINIC, I’ll get to it when I get to it”. To get a month supply every month is a 2-3 day process, and only happens after messaging her 3-4 times. She is very combative and RUDE! I don’t know if she is on some kind of power trip or if she just can’t handle her job. Like I said, the Dr is great, but this nurse has me thinking I’ll have to switch doctors due to the headache every month of trying to refill. Sending in refills IS part of her job, and she acts like her patients are a nuisance asking for them. I have NEVER been treated this way by a nurse.
I found Dr. Hill is to be very personable and professional. I’ve suffered a few months of anxiety which he immediately alleviated. Dr. Hillis spoke with me not at me as some doctors do. I’d recommend him to anyone.
I waited four months to bring my mother to an appointment. Four months is a long time when you are worried about your mother's ability to care for herself. Appointment day arrives, I show up doe my appointment at 1:40, only to be told "Sorry, your appointment was at 1:20. Because you're late you'll have to reschedule ." No amount of explaining that my appointment was at 1:20 could convince the office to see my mother. I will not return. Proper communication is a basic need that was not met
Awesome doctor! !!! So caring and sincere! !!!!!!!!
Benign, indifferent, failed to follow through with treatment
Dr. may be OK, but his staff either is incompetent or doesn't care. Every time you talk to the stff, the Dr, or the nurse the plan changes, the schedule changes or what they say to cover themself changes, many times on the same visit. It's just not worth the frustration. They send you next door for blood work only to get there and be told they really didn't mean to, that's just 1 out of 100 examples including scheduling a procedure with the Dr. at the hospital and changing the date without notifying you and then couldn't explain why the Dr. couldn't des he couldn't get hospital approval, he couldn't get insurance approval, he doesn't do that procedure, he's not here, he never said he would be the one doing the procedure (he answered YES to the question will you be the one doing the procedure? and how many have you personally done he gave an answer). Nobody knows.
My wife was admitted to Cape Coral hospital after falling and hitting her head. She spent the first couple of days in the ICU and 15 total days there. Dr. Hillis was named as her Neurologist and he supposedly ordered a cat scan. I ask the nurses to leave him several notes to call me at home, hospital or my cell so I could find out the results of this test and what his opinion was. Over 3 days he refused to contact me and I even tried calling his place of business to no avail. I even stay at the hospital late hoping to "catch" him there. He was supposedly writing in notes and finally signed out on her without ever speaking to me. My wife could not speak or understand anything during this time. My wife has been home for a week now and we still have not heard from him or about this cat scan yet I have a bill for a cat scan. Steer clear of this "God". Ok he is not a God but believes he is. I expect a bill from him any day now. Do you think he will talk to me when I refuse to pay his bill?
Dr. Rodney E Hillis is a great doctor. He will listen and is compassionate with his patients. He is Number 1 in my book.
Tremendously dedicated to patient care. Takes plenty of time and is sincerely concerned and thorough. Will do whatever he can to sort things out and not at all an egotistical kind of doctor; no hesitation to send for a second opinion. Will not take short cuts in terms of managing disease or symptoms. Very tuned in to patient.
Open minded. Willing to consider non-standard modalities. Always requests that appts be scheduled as new patient and "do not double-book" so I would have the full appt slot. He is always willing to spend the time I need for the appt and, unlike every other doc I've been to, does not interrupt after 5 seconds.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
