I have HASHIMOTO'S--it was determined by my GP, who sent me to a specialist... (well we thought she was..... Dr. Menhem saw me and determined that I needed to wait till my TSH was in normal range before she would even look at any of my other thyroid numbers (TSH is just the beginning, there's FREE T3, FREE T4, TPO Antibody, TG Antibody and Reverse T3 that is necessary to see the full thyroid panel --Hashimoto's and Graves disease is diagnosed this way -- other diseases too.) I waited 6 months for another appointment, and when I went back, she STILL didn't test the others...stating that she doesn't do that... I had to go to a GYNOCOLOGIST (whom she happens to work in the same office with)... WHOEVER HEARD OF A ENDOCRONOLOGIST who doesn't test a full thyroid panel? WTH!! What kind of doctor do you see if you have Hashimoto's??? ENDOCRINOLOGIST.... Any of them, that is, except for Miriam Menham ....she doesn't even check to find out if you have it! (or Graves disease) Craziness!
