Derek Baumbouree's Online Review Report Card

He has been my pediatrician since my 4 month old was born. Diagnosed him with reflux at a month old and told me to give him rice cereal. When I told him the rice gave him incredibly bad gas pains he told me to try oatmeal. That ended up doing the same and when I told him so he just ignored my concerns and told me there was no way it was. My son has been screaming in pain for the past two months and we took him in to get him checked up. He told us he was eating too much and cut back his formula and that he was just crying to cry and to let him cry in his crib until he fell asleep. That was 2 weeks ago-ish. Today we took him to the hospital because he was inconsolable. He was dehydrated from not enough formula and has a suspected intolerance and I will never take my son to see this "Doctor" again.

My kids get excellent care here. Very intelligent and kind staff. The doctor is also expert at adolescent care.

We have been using Dr. Baumbouree since my son was born 12 years ago. Even when we moved to Texas for a few years I would drive back just to have checkups. Dr. Baumbouree is a very intelligent, patient person who actually spends time with you. He asks lots of questions to make sure all is good if its a check up. If it is a sick appointment, he asks lots of questions to make sure he fully has the entire picture before giving his advice on what the issue is or how to rectify it. He aanswers any of your questions and concerns without you feeling rushed and like you are an idiot. He is a fantastic doctor.

Dr. seemed thorough, gave advice and asked a lot of questions. Nice office. Lady at front desk seemed very unprofessional. Ruined experience. She charged us late fee for cancelling appointment, because of temporary insurance issues for newborns, which was shortly resolved. She then made statements that contradicted earlier statements, regarding our situation, which resulted in a $50 late charge. Just make it passed the front gate, dr seems to be good, if you can ignore the front desk service, should be fine. We changed drs to not have to deal with future incompetence.

Liar

Dr. Baumbouree is GREAT! He is very helpful, but, explains things very well. He takes action in figuring out the root of the problem, doesn't just write prescriptions with a guessed diagnosis as most Dr.'s do these days. I highly recommend this Dr.

Great staff and doctor

Love, love, love Dr B and his staff! Dr B is amazing with all our children from the teenager to the toddler. The receptionist is helpful and gets us in the same day 99% of the time. His nurse is like one of the family. I'm so happy I found him when I moved to Lafayette!

This is the place to go! His office is new and the rooms are huge and the parking is feet away from the front door. His entire staff is so helpful. They are so organized and I rarely wait more than 3 minutes to get called into a room, and only 2 more minutes for the nurse, and then about 2 minutes after she leaves Doctor Baumboree comes in, no lie! They even email the prescription to my pharmacy of choice FROM the room while they're telling me how to use it. They are amazing.

My daughter has seen Dr. Baumbouree since she was about 4 months old. He has a great bedside manner and always makes me feel like he does everything he can to take care of whatever is going on with my daughter. I never feel like my questions are unanswered or rushed to get to the next patient. My daughter loves him too and actually gets excited when we go see him. He is a very caring doctor. When he comes in the room to see her, she sits on his lap while he goes over her information. I couldnt ask for a better pediatrician.
