List of The Carpenter House's Reviews
My aunt recently passed away there and we regret bring her to the carpenter house. Her day nurse was mean, cold, and unsympathetic. She would not even look up from her computer and phone when we would go to the desk with questions. I would give this place zero stars if I could. I do not remember her name but she had very short hair and a mean demeanor.
My sister passed away today at TCH in Lafayette. From the moment I heard she was going there I knew she would get the care and peace she would need to depart this world. We didn't have her there very long, but we are grateful for the care and compassion the nurses showed her and our family. I highly recommend TCH in Lafayette for anyone in need of end of life care. It is peaceful and homey. Wouldn't have had it any other way. Thank you to the great staff!--Family of Barbara Boone
My grandmother has been extremely sick and going through a lot of things. I am all the way in Pennsylvania and have called so many places. The nurses and staff here are so caring and friendly and came see my grandmother the day after her hospital visit, and had her admitted the next day. They truly care about people and I am so excited that my grandma 👵 is going to be in such good hands! Thank you guys! So much
My name is Hope Arceneaux, my mom Laura Broussard recently passed away on Sunday October 20th. They made sure she was very comfortable and the staff was very excellent with me, my family and my mom. She passed away peacefully and in no pain I just wanna thank them for making her comfortable before she passed away.
My loved one recently passed away at the Carpenter house. It was a peaceful & pain free for my loved one. Cindy our nurse was the most compassionate person.
From the moment we arrived we knew we had made the best decision for our vulnerable loved one. The room and common areas were disinfected and deeply cleaned on a daily basis. The atmosphere was quiet, peaceful and still. The nurses were very attentive to our loved one’s needs as well as our family’s. We all felt like we were welcome 24 hours with access to all the information that they had and with access to our loved one. Because we came and went at all hours, we eventually met all of the staff. And ALL of them were very gentle and considerate. Our family soon discovered that each member of this staff—the custodian, the CNA’s, the LPN’s, the RN’s, the Ward Clerk, the social worker, and the director—have a few things in common: gigantic hearts, enormous compassion, and the gift of caring for the medically vulnerable. Our family highly recommends The Carpenter House at a time when your loved one requires expert care.
When it became obvious my sister wouldn’t leave the hospital alive, my mom made the decision to send her to Carpenter House in Lafayette. From the first minute we were there, all of us knew that mom had made a great decision. We all felt surrounded by a peaceful, loving environment. It is quiet, the nurses are all so compassionate and caring, and my sister was treated with complete dignity from the moment we arrived through the moment her body was picked up by the funeral home. Indeed, the place felt like a second home where our whole family was comforted and embraced by the gentle and kind staff, from the Ward Clerk, the nurses, the CNAs, all the way to the janitor. I would highly recommend Carpenter House for anyone needing a warm, homelike environment for hospice or respite care. After my sister’s experience, my entire family would love to spend our last days there.
The staff was friendly, the room and facility overall was immaculate, and they accommodated us all with kindness and expert care.
As someone with 15 years of Healthcare experience I have never encountered a type of facility as terrifying as The Carpenter House. The staff was rude, unprofessional, and didn't seem to even care. I would be afraid to leave a loved one unattended. Specific examples: No ID badges, no greetings or introduction- no way of knowing their names, my Father wasn't asked for any ID and didn't receive a patient armband. He was given medication to make him sleep without informing my Mother sitting with him overnight. She couldn't wake him up and once he did he was hallucinating and tried to get out of the bed. The food in the facility is frozen and warmed in a microwave, the nurse told me this. In less than 24 hours my Father requested to return to LGMC . I am writing this review to help others because what my Family was told by the "salesman" in the Hospital was a lot different from the reality once inside.
Melanie is the rudest nurse of this facility, she acts so impatient everyday

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
