M Alan Hinton's Online Review Report Card

Dr.Hinton did my total knee replacement.i was so amazed that there was barley a scar to show. And my knee is great .need surgery on right knee,losing weight for surgery. But have no doubt,I would not choose any doctor, but Dr. Hinton. He is not a talkative Doctor ,but he tells you what you need to know, what you need to do, and explains the surgery well. As far as talking just to talk.thats not him .but he is the best knee specialist around in my opinion. I was glad I was able to get such a gifted doctor in lake charles, that is rare.

He had total disregard for me after my surgery. Gauze was left in my arm for too long and was emeshed/stuck inside my arm following surgery. I am still suffering from his negligence.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hinton's for many years now. Dr. Hinton has repaired in the past, my left knee and right shoulder when the VA Hospital's wouldn't. Now, I just as of yesterday went back to his office to find out that I reinjured the right shoulder this time it wasn't the VA but outside he explained everything clearly from injury to post surgery to get it back to 100 percent as he has always done! Dr. Hinton and his staff are very helpful, knowledgeable and awesome. Dr. Hinton is the only Orthopedic Doctor and Surgeon I Trust when it comes orthopedics. I will always recommend Him and his staff to anyone in the Southwest Louisiana region and surrounding areas. Orthopedic injuries and surgical Dr. Hinton and Staff are top notch!

Dr has no bedside manner whatsoever. Wouldn't even read reports I brought with me. I would't have been sent to him if there was nothing wrong. He just flopped down in his chair and slapped his computer monitor towards me to see and sid nothing is wrong.

Dr. Hinton did a full hip replacement on me and it was a successful surgery. I am pain free after 3 weeks. People let me tell you something. Dr. Hinton listened to everything I said before he operated on me. That was my 27th surgery since 2008. Most doctors I go to don't listen they would talk over me. He is not like that. He is the best doctor in the great State of Louisiana. All these bad reviews are a lie. I love you Dr. Hinton

He is always pleasant and professional

I've been a patient of Dr. Hinton since 2001, and I've had 10 surgeries when him and my last surgery was a complete knee replacement. Thru all on my medical issues, all my physician visits, this last visit to have my knee replaced, the care I've received was absolutely amazing. Before the procedure, during and after, Dr. Hinton and his staff has shown my family and myself more than a patient. The care, the respect, and mostly the compassion was amazing. Dr Hinton did not explain my injuries to my knee. I am 3% over BMI...3%! He told me to lose weight & he would do TKR. Get injections or learn to live with pain. I have ACL tear, Med Men tear, fx knee cap. LET HIM LIVE WITH THE PAIN!! I am in the medical field and worked in Ortho. In 30 years I have never heard a physician speak to a patient like that. It took 3 tries to get in joint space for injection. Namaste

wasted my gas money going for an appointment with Dr. Hintin. I went in because of pain due to an old elbow injury. It was not for broken bones, but the pain is more in my ligaments or muscles. He did an exray ?? then he told me there was nothing wrong with me. So I told him that I use ace bandages to wrap my elbow and I asked him to show me the correct way to wrap it . He said he had no idea how to do that and if it kept hurting then just go back to Houston where I had my elbow surgery done years ago and “let them deal with it”. He told me the elbow was not his area and didn’t know anything about it. The entire reason I chose to go to him was because of the many YouTube videos I watched of him giving seminars and various types of information due to ELBOW PAIN. But yet his go to line for me was “ I don’t know “ or “ that’s not my area”.

There are not enough words to describe how remarkable Dr. Alan Hinton is as a surgeon. He is compassionate and clearly one of the best orthopedic surgeons in the country. His staff is similarly skilled and caring, a rare find in these parts of the country, and a state with mostly failing health care grades - LA turns up 49 and 50 on state health care rankings. A truly gifted surgeon and gem of human being.
