St. Charles Parish Hospital's Online Review Report Card

I've been to this hospital on several occasions & since then, it's gotten worse. I fractured my left foot two weeks ago. I went to the ER in hopes of getting a walking boot or something. First thing was the Dr wasn't physically present. I had to talk to her virtually & she asked me one question: How did I fracture my foot? Nothing else. Then she ended the call. They then proceeded to splint my foot, gave me crutches & referred me to a orthopedic doctor/podiatrist where I finally get a walking boot. My insurance pays them good money just for them to splint my foot.

A lot of people knock this HOSPITAL but I believe that if it comes down to an ER doc saving your life they are competent enough to know what to do. Everyone is different. Take some responsibility for your own health. Also know your body, things that affect the human body, different medical conditions that may affect you. Yes, you can learn these things. There was one time that I have a difference of opinion about what I was told in the emergency room here, and I simply went to a different emergency room to get another opinion--both of the diagnosis were the same. The only difference being that I insisted at second location that an MRI be done because I was having chest tightness and I was concerned about blood clots which I did not have, PRAISE GOD again!! . Well the doctor at St Charles Hospital initially told me I did not have clots and he was correct. The hospital is very clean. I commend the ladies that work doing the mammograms. They always make it a very, very pleasant and as relaxing as possible experience. There's also a lady that works at radiology was always super friendly and super nice. He has been working there for a long time. Connie who used to work in respiratory, just a great great person, great tech. . My mom was in the ICU there and everyone was very professional, very caring, very courteous to her, and to all of us. The dialysis unit is as comfortable as it can be for people that have to be there for a time and at least three times a week.!!! And this hospital is renowned for their cafeteria food and it's cooks!!!!

Brought in by ambulance from 18-wheeler accident and was impressed at how fast the team worked to assess my needs and comfort Than you ER and Radiology

Nurse Practitioner Danielle Knight is amazing! She’s very compassionate and caring.

Did not really seemed to be concerned why I was there. Not once did anyone ask what medications I was on. Won't be going back to this hospital.

Do not go to this hospital even if it’s the last one left. The nurses and doctors are lazy ,petty, condescending ,rude , and they have horrible bedside manner . I went because the emt who was sent to my house told me my blood pressure was stroke level and that I was severely dehydrated and needed iv fluids. When Dr. Dixit came into my room he automatically was a complete condescending prick. I told him I’m extremely dehydrated and that the emt told me I was in desperate need of iv fluids . He responded with ,” that’s what waters for, drink some it’s good for you. No iv fluids today your pressure is back down and you are good to go” my bp was 161/118 …. Also he was not tryna be funny and crack a joke either , he is an absolute ignorant being and shouldn’t be licensed . Then the nurse on duty said “can I suggest a brown paper bag” as I was having a panic attack with my bp over 190 begging for help bc I felt like I was dying. She said ,” well you said you took your anxiety meds this morning right ? You should just take one when you get home” Should’ve never came to this unprofessional hospital in the first place . Bunch of ugly hearted, mean, hateful people that peaked in highschool. They all just sit around on their fat ugly behinds and gossip about patients and provide ZERO HELP . I wouldn’t step foot back here if someone paid off all my debt . PITIFUL. They entire staff that act in this manner should be ashamed of themselves . PLEASE SOMEONE POINT ME IN THE DIRECTION OF HOW TO GET INTOUCH WITH EITHER HR OR PATIENT ADVOCATE !!!!

*AVOID THIS HOSPITAL!!! UPDATE: The hospital has decided to use this incident as an educational opportunity. I thought everyone there already had an education. ?? If there was a way to give zero stars I would. I went in for grief support and counseling for "immense trauma" and I was treated like a prisoner. No compassion, no empathy...lots of pills. If I didn't have a pretty smile for the doctor he threatened a longer stay. Dr James McConville walked out after speaking with me for less than 5 minutes because he said I called him a liar...the nursing staff said he left because he wanted to get ahead of the storm. (I bet he'll bill me for the entire session.) I was trying to tell him what happened to me...why I need his help. He's not interested in anyone that disagrees with him. Avoid him at all costs. His ego gets in the way of his ability to practice thoughtful medicine. "The Coroner" is a passive aggressive outdated "practitioner" that needs to age out of the system.

The hospital & staff are great ! ER - not so much !
