For me to say I love this doctor may seem weird but, I have had may doctors and surgeons in my 70 years. There have been a very few that I can say I’ve loved. He is straight forward but kind. Even draws pics on a dry erase board to show where your problem is and his intended approach to fix it. He treats me like I know my own body. We do argue at times but he listens. Over the last 3 years, he appears to have become with my underlying condition (spina bifida and how it does or does not effect the current issue He is now treating an abscess on my left amputation stump. Over the last 2 years , he has treated Peristomal hernias, and last year dealt with a severe necrotizing fasciitis. In other words, I trust him

Staff at Dr. Jame's office is excellent: especially Amy. 💪 They are friendly and inviting. We at Movement Specialists Physical Therapy look forward to to treating the Northshore together. 🤗

My husband has severe heart disease and after hurricane Ida he got a hernia that was twisting and painful. Thank goodness Dr James Christopher was there to help him. Dr. Christopher served our country and has been in practice in our community for many years. He was really good with explanations and his bed side manor. I highly recommend Dr. James Christopher. I am a local pediatrician. After hurricane Ida my husband sustained a hernia that was twisting and causing great pain. He has severe heart disease and is on blood thinners so any surgery is a very big deal. Dr. James Christopher was there for us. I already had great trust in Dr. Christopher’s skills as he served our country for many years and has been taking care of my pediatric and teen patients for years. What was extra special was Dr. Christopher’s bedside manner for my husband the day of the surgery! He thoroughly reviewed my husband’s medical history. I was referred to Dr. Christopher after going to the ER for a gallbladder attack. I went to his office for the consult on a Tuesday, and he was able to schedule the surgery for the following Monday. I got it out that Monday at Lakeview and by Thursday was back at work. No complications at all. Dr. Christopher himself was very confident and reassuring, which was good because this was my first surgery (besides tonsillectomy and wisdom teeth removal)

I was very fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Christopher for bowel resection due to an embedded polyp found on routine colonoscopy. It was large and flat on the bowel wall. My gastroenterolgist said it needed to come out as the risk of conversion to bowel cancer was higher with this type of polyp. Dr. Christopher took the time to allay my apprehension and explain the procedure thoroughly. He removed 10" of bowel and reconnected the two ends at the same time so I didn't need a colostomy at all. A week after the surgery I was nearly back to normal. I will admit the first 24 hours were a bit rough though. Overall he made the bad situation as easy for me as he could and I recommend him highly.

Hes an amazing surgeon! He cured me after years of dealing with a debilitating issue. The surgery went great, no complications. It was my first surgery i was terrified but i came through with minor cuts & bruises. LITERALLY! The incision sites are so tiny. He did an amazing job. I wish i wouldve found him sooner. I had a wonderful experience with him and his staff. They were very helpful in getting community service approval from the VA to have a large polyp removed locally vs. at the VA hospital 50 miles away in New Orleans. Dr. Christoper took the time to explain that my disease couldn't be treated with just the colonoscopy as it had involved a significant section of my colon wall which had to be removed. The surgery involved the removal of about 10" of my descending/sigmoid colon with immediate re-attachment of the two ends. Within a week I was back to normal. I am very pleased with the outcome and I will be following my bowel health very closely from this point forward.

Dr. Christerpher runs a very friendly and efficient office. It starts at arrival with Shannon who gets you checked in. Then Barbara takes you to the exam room and does the prelims. Everyone has a very positive attitude and are willing to answer your questions
