List of Ramesh Ayyala Md's Reviews
Treated me in a very condescending way.
I had an extraordinarily good experience with Dr. Ayyala and Dr. Perszyk at the USF Eye Clinic. I never waited more than a few minutes for an appointment, and was treated by everyone with respect and attention. Dr. Ayyala performed the cataract surgery and I am unbelievably happy with the result. My vision in that eye is now 20/15 and there are no complications or problems whatsoever. Dr. Ayyala and Dr. Perszyk were professional, attentive, responsive to any question I had, including answering questions by text. I would recommend this group very highly and without reservation. The entire staff is outstanding.
I, Gina Sincere, want to inform everyone about my experience of services at Tulane University Hospital & Clinic of New Orleans, LA. During a routine scheduled procedure, the wrong IOL (Intraocular Lens Implant) prescription was placed in my left eye by Dr. Ramesh S. Ayyala, MD. The Lens was causing severe eye pain. I went back to Dr. Ayyala at Tulane University Hospital to help with the eye pain. It was explained to me, that the Lens was rubbing against the iris in my left eye and this was the source of the eye pain/eye pressure. The plan of treatment was to change and reposition the Lens and make it match the Lens in my right eye. After the procedure, I found that a shunt and balloon device were placed into my left eye in addition to the discussed treatment plan. The shunt and balloon device was causing a more intense eye pain. The pain was more intense than the eye pain I had prior to the corrective procedure. Dr. Ayyala, never discussed placing a shunt and balloon device in my eye during the consent of the plan of treatment. My eye was in so much pain, I asked for the shunt and balloon device to be removed. He removed each device one at a time. This totaled two surgeries that were not necessary. I was still having eye pain and following up with Dr. Ayyala. Dr. Ayyala was prescribing eye medications that were not helpful and stated; no other doctor would see me. He suggested; that I don’t focus on the eye. So, I asked for a second opinion. Dr. Ayyala referred me to Dr. Delmar Caldwell, MD. Dr. Caldwell suggested; that I don’t focus on the eye, as well. Dr. Caldwell gave me the impression he did not really care. This is when I realized that I was a part of an insurance scam. I was lied to on several occasions about the medical treatment that was provided. On a later date, I found that a shunt and balloon device were not necessary treatments for my diagnosis. I wanted another opinion on the treatment I received from Dr. Ayyala. I consulted a team of doctors to reexamine my left eye. The doctors found that Dr. Ayyala poorly placed the second Lens in my left eye and it was cutting the iris. The doctors thought that it was unusual that this condition went unnoticed for two and a half years. I want everyone to be aware of these health care providers that are taking advantage of patients and insurance companies. If you had any procedures done at Tulane University Hospital & Clinic and feel that it wasn’t part of your treatment plan or deemed necessary for your diagnosis, please come forward. Please contact the CEO of Tulane University Hospital & Clinic. These maybe procedures that you should not have been billed for and a reimbursement maybe required in your situation.
If your looking for a demeaning and condescending doctor then look no further. After two back to back concussions I had the unfortunate luck of needing to be seen by an eye doctor. Dr. Ayyala walked into the room and never introduced himself or the residents he was with but began putting drops in my eye. He never looked at my chart to even see the reason why the concussion program sent me to him. The whole appointment was so terrible that I asked to leave because he was verbally inappropriate.
he is a great doctor responds well with patients I recommend him highly .
Dr. Ayyala gives 100% to his patients. He is considered next to God by many.
Dr. Ayyala did some needed cosmetic surgery on my right eye due to a previous operation to remove a basil cell cancer. The operation left my right eye lower lid sagging and that was causing problems with my eye. Dr. Ayyala corrected that and did a fantastic job. I traveled over 400 miles to have Dr. Ayyala do this surgery and I would gladly travel a thousand miles. I highly recommend Dr. Ayyala to anyone who needs eye related surgery. And a good job to Kaylee for assisting and coordinating the appointment and all the related paper work in getting my eye defect corrected.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
