Want to thank Lt. Bell and Jonothan Liberto, of the Public Safety Department at West Jefferson Medical Center. I left my valuable computer in the basket behind the wheelchair I was pushing my Aunt in and they found and returned it to me safely. They were so helpful and didn't expect anything in return. Great to know there are honest and caring people in this world.
While I can’t speak on the ER, the clinical care team(nurses, physicians and staff) are awesome. I had a wonderful experience after my surgery. However, the door greeters are becoming ruder by the day. The young ladies gave my mom and friend a hard time while coming to visit me after having major surgery. Why do loved ones have to go through a hassle when trying to visit a family member/friend? This protocol needs to be evaluated because it’s becoming an inconvenience.
The pediatric emergency department is a COMPLETE JOKE , have been WAITING FOR OVER 5 hours to get a small object out of my sons ear. This is RIDICULOUS
Muy mala esperiencia
I had my gastric sleeve surgery here yesterday and I was discharged today. The staff was amazing and very attentive! There was never a call that went unanswered and the entire staff treated me with care! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
My grandfather died here and my step-dad. Negative experiences with those for my entire family, negligence would be the word to describe what happened, some refuse to go here because they don't trust the hospital. Though there are some very nice, good nurses and very good people working here, it's not all bad. Maybe it's just managed poorly. Understaffed most likely because it seems there isn't time for attention to detail. The hospital itself is pretty nice though, the cafeteria is really nice, great hot food selection. Parking is never a problem that's nice. Finding where your loved one is can sometimes be tricky as it seems the information is hard to obtain.
Was a very good experience, staff was very nice & efficient
Amazing staff!! Everyone was friendly and helpful!
Super friendly and helpful! Karen and Joe rock!
Came to get my covid shot and everyone was absolutely wonderful.. zero complaints!!! Awesome experience!!
The one-start rating is for the ER. My mother has been to the ER several times in the last 2 years. There are a few good nurses, however, there are some HORRIBLE nurses that need to be removed. What makes this worse is the lack of cell phone service and ability for family to stay in the ER with loved ones. This opens the opportunity for nurses to abuse and mistreat patients. Even if other nurses or doctors witness or hear of the mistreatment, no one is willing to address it. Going forward, I will either send my mother to a different hospital or sue when she is mistreated again. I am tired of it and there is no excuse. We have been to other floors for multiple days and everyone was so nice. **BEWARE LEAVING YOUR ELDERLY PARENTS ALONE IN THE ER!!**
Every single time my fine or anyone in my family is sent to this hospital it’s a horrible experience today my mother went and I’m just fed up the staff is horrible and unprofessional my mother was taken to the hospital found out she was sick not due to COVID but pneumonia and bronchitis and all while I’m her room no doctors come to see her she asks multiple times for water and a blanket due to feeling dry and cold yet hasn’t received it after being there for hours my brother ends up calling asking the hospital about my mom’s condition and is told that they are working on it at the moment but it was a lie my mom could hear her outside of the door saying that yet nothing has been done they send her home with antibiotics but no pain medicine and an inhaler but no asthma medicine for her machine she isn’t being properly being taken care of and none of my family members ever were
Horrible came in with my baby sister who had fallen and hit her head. She was gashing with blood and crying. The lady was very rude to me and my family and was over all a jackass. My sister and mother had to wait over 2+ hours to be seen . All while her head was still bleeding.
Took my mom to get her booster. Operations were smooth and efficient. Staff were very friendly. Nurse Patty and registrar Kellsey were kind and personable. Great experience!
I went to the Emergency Room on 7/23/2021.1)The receptionist asked everyone that entered to remove their mask and wear the hospital mask, I refused to remove my mask and asked if I could wear theirs over mine and it was allowed, but why would anyone ask you to take your protection off knowing that COVID-19 could be lurking next to you.2)The ER restroom was out of order! WHY? The waiting room was practically full and that was strictly patients because anyone that was accompanied had to either wait outside or leave! Fully understandable, except some of the patients claimed they were waiting over 8 hours and there wasn’t a nurse in the area monitoring these ER patients, only the receptionist who was probably not qualified and the intake clerk and security.3) I was allowed under management approval through the Receptionist to have my son who was under 18 but not under 15 to stay with me the entire time, but under the condition he must be with me at all times. But later on when nature called I was asked to leave him in the waiting room and he could not go to the triage area for bathroom use. I refused to leave my son that far behind closed doors in a waiting area that included possible Mental Patients, and a couple acted in that manner! So the receptionist basically insulted me by stating “she would never bring her child with her to the ER!”, she just insulted me, I asked her to not insult me as a mother because she was fully informed of my situation and requested the approval for the accommodation through her superior. Then she states that “the area in the back was full of COVID-19 cases and they couldn’t risk him going back there for bathroom use”, hello, the entire area is a possible COVID-19 hotspot! To make this somewhat a shorter story, Security walked us to the Atrium Facilities for use and I couldn’t take sitting in those chairs any longer after being there 3-4 hours, after the 2nd triage and analysis I thanked them and left!!But let me add, before getting the approval for my son to stay with me in the ER, the Receptionist stated that my son was old enough to stay outside, huh, who is she to make such statements to anyone?!!
The actual medical staff wasprofessional. They took very good care of me however the kitchen staff showed no common courtesy at all bywalking in the room to bring a dinner tray without warning while I’m trying to use The urinal and that was very embarrassing and humiliating for me as I’m sure more so for female patients in the same situation. would not in immediately walking One time I was on the bedside toilet and someone from the kitchen walked in onI me.I understand my privacy is not as it would be at home but I believe common sense and courtesy should still fall into play. It was very embarrassing not to mention humiliateing for me to say the least. I complained about it but it continued to happen so obviously nothing was done about it. But medically the hospital staffwas excellent.Being a patient in the hospital and having to rely on others doesn’t mean every employee at the hospital needs to see you naked or in a compromising position
Tried to get a covid test but the drive through closed 40 minutes early and the customer service representative was very rude when trying to find out where I could get a test. Crazy how short people can be about covid but a hospital? The one where you frequent your GP?? I’ll be looking to transfer my GP to ochsner. LA is getting hit hard by this resurgence and I can see why.
Pregnant and made me wait 5 hours, to be seen. Doctor walked in on me changing, also caused a blown vein while taking a blood sample.
I have been waiting in the ER 3hrs.This is beyond ridiculous. I came in covidpositive.
Had to be rushed to the ER with something other than covid. (But still lung related). Of course it is crowed in the ER and the nurses and doctors worn down. They did everything they could to help me. With all the super serious stuff (car wrecks, other accidents, heart patients and then the biggy covid) I felt sort a shame of taking up their time. Being in the ER as a patient for some 11 hours (rooms nearly booked up) was no fun but I bet it is less fun for the doctors and nurses on their feet running around all night. So if you see an EMT, nurse or doctor just say thank you.
