Very good exam. Explained what he was observing. Friendly

Great doctor, friendly staff.
Dr. Boyle is a fantastic Ophthalmologist. I see his *'s are not very high as far as "personality". "Personality" has nothing to do with the ability of Dr Boyle performing a great (me) "I can see better than ever" cataract surgery. Kudos to you Dr Boyle! Looking forward to my right eye cataract surgery. As I'm writing to you, I'm wearing my right contact lens. Can't believe that I can see so much better from my left eye after my cataract surgery.
I've been using Gulf South Eye Associates and Dr. Fitzmorris for more than 20+ years and am completely satisfied. I recently was seen due to pink eye and was seen the same day, which may be the reason for some of the longer waits if they are willing to see same day emergencies. Eye glass place is very attentive and patient. I've since started bringing my children for their check ups.
This practice obviously cares about money more than a person's health. My son was recommended to this practice by his pediatrician who's in the same building. I made it clear that this was a referral from my son's pediatrician who is, again, in the same building. Prior to my son's appointment, a very curt and rude young lady called to verify my son's insurance while I was taking my lunch break at work. I verified what I had but she still insisted that the information was incorrect. She proceeded in stating that this practice could not see my son because the insurance was not covered. I advised her to cancel the appointment, and we both hung up. After asking that the appointment be cancelled, I received a confirmation call the following day. I called the office immediately AGAIN to ask that the appointment be cancelled, but there was no way to leave a message. The day of the appointment, I am once again harassed by the same, unprofessional person who made it clear that if the insurance could not be confirmed or verified, this practice could not see my son. I made it obvious that I wanted the appointment cancelled. My question is, if my son's pediatrician referred him to this practice, then instead of harassing a new patient, why wasn't the insurance verified with the referred practitioner? I am seeking services elsewhere, because Gulf South Eye Associates could use a lesson in customer care rather than focusing on money. TRULY DISAPPOINTING.
I contacted your office and set up an appointment for my son to see Dr Fitzmorris to discuss the possibility of contact lens. I wasn't sure what an appropriate age was for contacts. The lady setting up the appointment warned me that I needed to be aware ahead of time about the co-pay that applied "because Dr Fitzmorris is a specialist". She said someone would call me a couple of days before the appointment. I am a federal employee. I have fairly good insurance, I told her that was fine. Dr Fitzmorris was recommended to us, so I was eager to meet her. I was hoping she would be our new steady eye doctor for my son. Well the appointment date came up and no one called me. We went in for the appointment. We were whisked from room to room automatically being seen for contacts. I went along with things thinking at some point I would get to talk to the doctor. Finally Dr Fitzmorris comes in! She moves very quickly and talks very quickly. She actually asked me what grade my son was in and fussed that normally 8th grade is the age. I was sitting there thinking I wish someone would have told me that an hour ago! -Before my sons' eyes were dilated! Nonetheless the doctor agreed to allow my sons the contacts. I was given Katie Morgani's card for a 2nd time before the doctor left. I was never given an opportunity to ask any questions. The meeting was over. I had hoped maybe Katie would be helpful. Katie worked with my son to put the contact in one time and then take them out. She told us the contacts were always in stock and to call at the end of the week after trying a pair for a few days. I told her I had Blue Cross Blue Shield coverage including a program referred to as Infinity (I told her I may be pronouncing it wrong but it was similar). Katie said it was Eyefinity. She said she would call and determine the coverage for me and get back with me. Well that was 2 weeks ago. I have called and called and left message after message. Katie did call me and left me a voice message yesterday saying my son's contacts had come in. Were they ordered? She told me that they were always in stock? In addition to that question I had another question. Both the doctor and nurse commented that my son's left eye had gotten much weaker. Yet when putting in the contacts Katie said he could put either one in either eye. Does it make a difference...if his left eye is weaker don't we need a different prescription in one eye. So I called 3 times today. Never spoke to Katie. Finally after holding for over 10 minutes I spoke to Lindsey. She said they couldn't find I had any coverage with Eyefinity that I should call them. I asked her if she had the number. "Nope" she did not. So I call Blue Cross Blue Shield, they tell me it's called Affinity. I called your office again and talk to Lindsey again, all for her to tell me you are not in network for Affinity! I am so disappointed at this system I have fallen into. I thought I was going to see an eye doctor. Instead my son and I were pushed through a system. I shared my disappointment with Lindsey. She couldn't have cared less. I asked if I could at least get a copy of the prescription and go elsewhere. She snipped that we could and hung up.So now I have paid $160 for an eye exam. I still don't know if I need a certain contact lens for his left eye. I cannot believe this office was recommended. I will nto return and I will share my experience with others.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
