Dr Pettiford is exceptional, he is an excellent communicator, he is considerate and always willing to answer questions and explain the information provided during consultation. I have been extremely satisfied with Dr. Pettiford- the treatment he has provided and with the follow up care I have received.

I think he is very kwodledge

Dr. Pettiford is warm and welcoming, and above all, he is one superb doctor! His physician’s assistants, Camille and Catherine went above and beyond to accommodate my husband!! Overall, it felt as though we were dealing with family…their love and concern were exemplary!

Dr. Pettiford and his staff are outstanding. The staff was wonderful while preparing me for surgery. Dr. Pettiford came to my room with his assistant on numerous occasions to check in on me and I was only in the hospital a day and a half. The surgery went excellent. The staff made sure all of my medications were available and my follow-up appointments set even before I left the hospital. Dr. Pettiford and his staff take care of their patients well! If you are having GERD, hiatial hernia and/or reflux problems go make an appointment with him, you and your family will not be disappointed.

Dr. Pettiford is a fantastic surgeon. He saved my life!

I was diagnosed with a sarcoma which had collapsed my right lung. Dr. Pettiford led the removal of this tumor. It was approximately 15 pounds. I have the full use of both lungs and have made a 100 percent recovery.

I was very pleased with the time and care that Dr. Pettiford displayed during my recent visit with him, he answered all of my questions thoroughly and was very personable. I particularly appreciated that he enthusiastically took the time to explain to me the more technical things that he was referring to, rather than just rambling off medical jargon in a rushed fashion like I've experienced in the past. Dr. Pettiford exudes confidence and knowledge andI would absolutely recommend his services.

Overall opinion,he was rude when questioned about seeking treatment at another hospital after surgery. As a spouse, I wanted to make sure we got the best ongoing treatment. We are talking about lung cancer, so you only get one shot at getting it right. We also felt that pain issues were dismissed after release from the hospital. If York had more thoracic surgeons he might not have been who we choose. Very good with the surgery part, but feel the aftercare and emotional issues are not given any consideration.

Dr. Pettiford is an excellant doctor and surgeon, saved my life from cancer. His office is lacking in their professionalism i.e. when you call you get answering machine and call back hours later. Follow up appts. have to be scheduled by yourself.

This Surgeons bedside manor was poor. He would stand in the door with his arms folded and was very evasive when questions were asked. He was very slow to contact my husband pre operation to explain the procedure and when he did contact him he was very rude and did not take the time to explain the procedure. Post operation my husband stated he was very "stand offish" and seemed to be in a hurry and did not want to answer questions. 10 minutes later he met him in the hall carrying a lunch tray and he was rude to him then as well.Overall this was a poor experience and I would not reccomend him as a cardiothoracic surgeon.
