Love the Doctors and staff and the services my son had a motorcycle accident has a TBI was a 5 on the Glasgow coma scale and now 8s doing great. They were very helpful with him greatly appreciate thus 0lace
My daughter went into labor prematurely and came here to deliver her 1st baby. I drove 2 hrs to stay the night with her and the baby so she can start to get her strength back. Because she had 2 visitors earlier this day, so I was not able to stay with her. So now she’s by herself trying to figure things out. The nurses are helpful but they can’t sit by her bedside all night to help her with little things like watching the baby while she shower or just use the restroom or even help calm down the baby when he gets fussy. I understand they have other patients to tend to. This is her 1st baby and she needed help. But security was is sooo rude and nasty when they speak to people. I’ve never in my life ever came across such rude people in my life. These people do not know how to talk to people must less explain hospital policies. It’s just NO!!!! NO!!!! NO!!!! AND NO!!! I couldn’t even get a question in. It’s not just about explaining the rules but it’s the attitude they have. And their body is language is no better by saying they don’t give a flip.
They sent me home with nothing because nothing was wrong with my foot. lol this is 24 hours later.
Don’t come here after closing hours. All exits are closed.
I don’t recommend this hospital as a employee or for having a baby Indian man who did my epidural took an hour to give it to me he did r know what he was doing stuck me three times and was turning needle in my back him not my nurse Amy would tell me what was going on I couldn’t even walk after giving birth doctor Green didn’t show up until the next day after giving birth i would never return to this facility and Human Resources is a joke so don’t bother complaining unless you rich or know someone like the ceo than they will listen otherwise is regular people get looked over my back still hurts til this day and that was November last year
I just do not know when Doctor do not spend enough time with a patient. I fell when I lave a visit what happen. I' m unhappy with my visit.I can get lab work done. And today I call a doctor over six time are more because to- morrow I need to go pick up my paper work an go to the lab. My pharmacy have a hard time to get refill an I also. So why his they in m self have no need too be stress-out when seem a doctor are call with question concern. My health I been take care of myself along since I was seventeen.. I just can deal with it any more.
My husband became ill shortly after arriving in New Orleans. His condition deteriorated rapidly and it became apparent he needed medical intervention. I make an appointment for a Sunday morning. Arriving a little early, we were greeted by the security guard and were allowed to immediately check in. We waited not much more than a minute before being called into triage. Within 15 minutes, my husband was in a bed back in the ER. He received exceptional care from the moment we entered. Procedures were well explained and I felt they really took his condition seriously. My husband was feeling better when we left about four hours later. Within another 24 hours, he was feeling "about 90%." So glad I found Touro Infirmary. Highly recommend!!!
My husband went to the ER after experiencing extreme abdominal pain. They discovered he had appendicitis and was operated on the next morning. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful but Ms. Debbie Pickett in R5 who was his post surgery nurse truly stood out! She was genuinely kind and caring and constantly went above and beyond to make sure we both were comfortable during his medical journey at Touro. Hands down Ms. Debbie is the best medical professional either of us have ever dealt with!
My mother went to the 9th floor rehab center and had the unfortunate encounter with the case manager named donna barrios who worked along side doctor barfoot who were the worst medical workers imaginable. The facility is too cold, you could hang meat here, the food is horrible. The rooms are filthy and the furniture in the rooms is decrepid. They gave me a urinary tract infection.
Dr. Wilde is an horrible doctor. Her bedside manner was that of a rabbit pitbull. She discriminated against me because of my illness and the color of my skin. My blood count are very low and she said to me "either we can do it my way or you can go home against medical advice". She is the rudest most prejudice doctor I have ever had. She needs to be fired ASAP!!!
They don’t care about the patients half of them just there to collect a check… I don’t even know why I bothered to even go to this place I’ve seen it all when I was employed here years ago still the same ish different staff!
Dr. Wilde was disrespectful and rude to me. She stereotype me and was prejudice towards me because of my illness and the color of my skin. I went to the hospital because I was weak and my heart was beating so fast. Turns out I need a blood transfusion. I want a different doctor for obvious reasons. She told me I can do it her way or leave against medical advice. This shouldn't be allowed to treat dogs yet alone human beings. She needs to be fired.
I’ve visited this location twice to see Felipe Ramirez and both visits he never came in the room to see what was going on with my condition. He just stands outside the room playing on his phone while his assistant helps to the best of her ability. After my first visit he was supposed to refer me to a physical therapist it never happened. After my second visit his assistant told me he would schedule a mri and this also never happened. I’ve come to the realization that my back pain is my problem and not Ramirez concern.
I have to start this off by saying that I have given birth 3 times at Touro. Once in 2008; without an issue. Once in 2011; where my midwife had to complain to the staffers about the last patient's hazardous waste being left in the room. This never sat right with me so in 2020 when I got pregnant Touro was not my hospital of choice. However because of COVID-19; Touro became my only option. I am going to stick to just the facts because if you are a woman of color I want to seriously consider going elsewhere to give birth. If you doubt what I am saying here look at Touros's track record. Black women and babies die at this hospital and though women sometimes die in and after labor after giving birth at Touro in September of 2020 I am blessed to be able to write this review. I am lucky to be alive. I had a plan to have my child naturally as I haven't had good experiences with the drugs offered nor the side effects. On September 9th my water broke at home and I gathered my bags and went to deliver my baby. As I was being admitted the nurse that brought me upstairs complained about me having so many bags. I had 2 one for myself and one for my son. I figured this was a joke but it was more of an omen of the horror that was to come. When I entered L&D I was put into a room with a bed that had a thin sheet; no pillow and no blanket. I asked for a pillow and a blanket after I was admitted and given an IV and was as was told by the staff; "We don't have any." Dad stayed home with our older kids and the children's Godmother committed herself to help me through labor. "I am not letting you do it alone; I am coming when you have the baby so call me when it's the time!" Thankfully I did because she was our saving grace. She gets to the hospital and sees me with my baby's blanket rolled up behind my bed as a makeshift pillow and after I brought her up to speed she asks me " Why don't you have a pillow? Did you bring that blanket here? They didn't give you water?" She went to ask the staff for some ice since they kept brushing me off through the call button(this got much worst), and after about 15 minutes she returns disappointed with two little cups of ice that she had to hunt down because when she asked the staff for ice they said the machine was broken. She filled the cups with water from the sink and apologized; for not being able to find a vending machine. I will mention that the staff had a very cynical attitude towards both of us and when we asked if we could play some music; they said '...sure you can light incense and burn candles too." We both agreed that doing so didn't seem hospital-friendly and tried to stay focused. Now the plan that I had discussed with my doctor was to go natural. So I ignored the pressure to take the epidural. My contraction were piggy-backing at this point and I am just trying to focus on having this baby. Unfortunately at this point, I had to use the restroom; since they told us I should walk to try to help things along we called the nurse to unhook me from the machines we called the nurse repeatedly...nothing. I finally said got up and went on my own they came in after I was done and showed his Godmother how to unhook the machine in case I had to go to the restroom again. The contractions started to get pretty heavy and an alarm started to go off on the machine that monitors the contractions. The nurse came in after we buzzed her repeatedly and tells my son's Godmother to "...just turn it off like this if it goes off. We are monitoring her at the front desk so we can see everything from there." I was shocked but I pressed on; I mean I couldn't just get up and go home. The nurses come back to check my cervix I am dilated but not in active labor. The doctor comes in to ask about an epidural again; I refuse it again. After about an hour or two we have learned how to read the machine and predict how intense the next contraction will be. We call the nurses because things are getting close; they checked me again I was 9cm dilated. They told me not to push and left again. I am in intense pain which is to be expected, but this felt like active labor. We page them...nothing. Continued in photos.....
The staff ignored everything I told them. Met with nurse and anesthesia guy for pre-op assessment. He asked about my medical history. The nurse told him she just handed it to him, but he refused to read it. I told him the meds I take and those I cannot take. He ignored everything I told him. He asked about my medical problems. I told him about the heart and lung problems I suffer from. Again, he ignored me and said that doesn't matter. Really? My medical problems don't matter if I'm having hip surgery? He asked if I prefer spinal or general anesthesia, I told him I've had general in all of my past surgeries with no problems. He told me he and the Dr. don't do general anesthesia. They only do spinal because "it is safer." He explained that with spinal the patient is allowed to breathe on their own. I repeated that I have serious lung problems, am required to use CPAP BECAUSE I DON'T BREATHE ON MY OWN WHEN SLEEPING! He said that doesn't mater. REALLY? I need a CPAP with a pressure setting of 20 because I stop breathing over 100 times an hour when unconcious, and that doesn't matter? Then told me I can't take my RX meds the day of the surgery. Again, REALLY? I told him what and why I have to take the meds. I cannot skip doses by order of my cardiologist and pulmonist. He just ignored everything I told him and repeated his statement "We don't use general anesthesia. I you don't like it go elsewhere."That's exactly what I did. I cancelled the surgery and am going elsewhere.I see bad reviews here going back years. I also see responses from the Hospital saying to contact them so they can address the problem. Yet the bad reviews and complaints continue to pile up. That tells me Touro management isn't doing anything to improve the situations.Never been at Touro before, and NEVER again.
Touro Hospital and Dr. Richard Meyer are the very BEST! I am a physician and after researching the various options for my wife who needed total hip replacement surgery.....one name kept coming up on top - Dr. Richard Meyer. He specializes in the anterior approach - (which he teaches other orthopedists about) - and has many years of experience in this technique. My wife had surgery (3 months ago) at Touro - which has an amazing hip and spine surgery program. She got the very best team approach to her care at Touro. She felt like she was in a boutique/private hospital that was super clean and followed all the Covid precautions. The same day of surgery, she was walking and going up stairs. Now she is has been getting around very well, riding her bike and is ready to start back playing tennis. Dr. Meyer's office folks are super helpful and have made this an amazingly successful medical experience. My wife has her life back and we couldn't be more thankful to Dr. Meyer, his staff, and Touro hospital.
The best hospital stay I've ever had it was like being taken care of by my whole family genuine, kind, compassionate staff the nursing staff is NO. 1 in my personal opinion thank you for taking care of me this sickle cell crisis was one of the worst I've ever had ever but you all made it easier to go through with your concern and compassion THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH
Their new senior care floor boasts huge televisions, large digital clocks, newer and more comfortable beds. There’s also a family lounge area with a mini fridge and a coffee maker.
Unfortunately I had to take my mom to the ER very late in the evening. I naturally assumed that there would be a very lengthy wait. To my surprise there was none!! She was seen right away.I can't begin to express how efficient the ER department is ran. My mom was seen by Dr. Wilde. She provided impeccable service, from the beginning to end. She was very knowledgeable, caring, and displayed top-notch bedside manners!! She made sure all necessary tests were ran before she provided a diagnosis. To cap it off, she even phoned the next day to check on my mom. We were there until the wee hours in the morning, and everyone that we encountered (Security, check-in, triage etc) displayed the same courtesy and professionalism. Thanks Nurse Katie, you too were awesome!! Healthcare workers deserve the utmost respect! We thank all of you!!!Andrea R. PriceUS Navy Retired
