List of William C Smith's Reviews
Spent zero time talking to me and I didn’t even know what medicine I had been prescribed until I went to the pharmacy to pick it up. He just never came back into the room and gave no direction. Terrible experience.
Does not spend any time with patients. Do not recommend.
Dr. William Smith is amazing! He is experienced like no other. Nobody can compare to his expertise and compassion. He truly is concerned for the patient and not the profit. I am living proof of this! I would give this doctor the highest marks ever possible.
Having had years of back pain I was referred to Dr William Smith. He assured me that the very invasive fusions would improve my condition. A year after surgery I am unable to stand straight, as I was able to do before this invasive procedure.I am almost bent double,I have been in relentless back pain needing PT and even acquired a huge bedsore due to lack of basic mobility. I saw Dr. once after surgery, before he DISAPPEARED. I am unable to get my records, his office had my wife go there, then door was locked. I have requested them on phone many times, sent a certified letter with prepaid envelope ,no response. Finally my plan sent me to another Neurological Surgeon who stated, AND wrote in his notes “he would NOT have done this operation on a 79 y/o pt.” He even mused in his notes, that all the areas may not have been securely treated! This makes sense as I was under anesthesia a much shorter time than expected. My wife (who is a practicing RN) had asked Dr Smith, if he could just operate on the areas of my back that were the most damaged? he stated NO he needed to do the 3 fusions. My quality of life is so poor after a year plus. I have hardly left home in over a year I’m embarrassed regarding my posture and needing medication and a walker, which I never needed before this surgery. My fusions are loose one rod flapping in the breeze screws out and loose in other areas. I see another victim stated that her screws were too short?. In conclusion Dr Smith should have refused to operate on me as even though I was all for the surgery to improve my life, what I finished up with was the opposite.
I have a very severe case of double major scoliosis and my spine also rotates. On may 9, 2014 I was taken into surgery to fix my scoliosis which at that point had caused me to lose 4 inches in height and was having other medical and physical issues because of the condition of my spine. Although my spine was crazy curved it didn't show from my outward appearance, in other words, I stood up straight. After my surgery I had several complications that made it necessary for me to remain hospitalized for over 2 months in four hospitals and then a long term facility. in all that time I was hospitalized, Smith came to check on me ONCE, in the first week after my surgery and not again. I wont get into the details but after my surgery I spent 8 months in a wheel chair, if I stood up I visibly (still) lean to my left, and when I finally got to see Dr Smith after the 2 and a half months, I asked him why I was leaning and what he was gonna do to fix it? He then told me that, he was gonna send me to a chiropractor. REALLY? what was going to a chiropractor gonna do for me? I have hardware in 3/4 of my spine. I accidently learned that Dr. Smith not only fused me wrong which caused my lean, he didn't even finish the surgery and to this day he never told me this. Ive been under the knife SIX times in surgeries to repair my left rotator cuff because having to hold myself up because I lean, thanks to the good DR. Its only a matter of time before I will need a shoulder replacement and I will have to have my spine fixed as its only a matter of time before it begins causing me other complications, like walking, standing, etc. I have had a total of 8 surgeries on my neck and back and because of what Dr. Smith did to me, I get to go through it all over again. I will never get back the things I lost , but be thankful he left his practice because it is gonna save others a lot of pain and suffering. Thank You Mr. William Smith .
My wife had surgery by Dr. Smith a month and a half ago. Just the other day we got a call from his office that he is now on "indefinite sabbatical" whatever that means. They told us that we will not see him again and that we should just go to our primary care doctor to find another neuro surgeon to do our follow up appointments! I wish they would have at least helped us find a new doctor!
This doctor is beuatiful doctor , human doctor, the best in las vegas
I gave this review only 5 stars because that is the most allowed. In reality I would give at least 10+. He did a very difficult spinal surgery on my husband a year ago. This highly skilled and compassionate surgeon gave my husband his life back. My husband has a 100% full recovery and thanks to Dr. Smith he will not be in a wheelchair and has zero pain. In addition to this, Dr. Smith did neck surgery on me. It was a 100% success. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. William Smith.
Lies a lot. He says he will get you in by the next week for sultry. It took him three moths to get me in. He treats his patients like a conveyor bed. He doesn’t care if you’re in pain
Dr Smith did 5 of my 6 back surgeries. Very pleasant but spends very little time in exam room. 1 surgery didn’t fuse and he had to go back in. Last surgery was thoracic fusion. Only surgery that didn’t help at all. had collapsed lung and came right into my room to put in chest tube to relieve air and was able to breath. If not for my wife who is a nurse it would have taken a lot longer for diagnose. After 9 fusions I hope to have 0 surgeries again but if I do I’d consider him again. Valerie was great but rest of staff lacked compassion.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
