If I could give this doctor zero stars, I would! He is by far the worst doctor I’ve ever encountered. After discovering I needed my gall bladder removed while I was out of town working, I came back home the same day and went to Highland where my OB told me to go (I was 6 months pregnant!) This man never came into my room, instead he stood by the door and said, “you’ll just have to deal with this. You’re pregnant. I’m not operating.” Next thing I know, I’m being billed for a visit in his office and his office manager has no idea why! She calls me back weeks later and informs me that she “guesses those charges are valid.” The whole office staff is a joke. Nobody knows what’s going on and they are definitely not there to help you. I work with tons of doctors and their office staff daily and I have never ever had this kind of experience. If I were you, I would not even consider this man. I’ve heard he’s a great surgeon, however, I wouldn’t know. As far as the business aspect of everything… good luck. I requested my medical records five different times over 6 months ago…. Still nothing.
Mishandled!!!I feel like my situation was minimized the start, my appointment rushed. The nurse seemed in a rush.. asked the same questions I'd answered seconds before. Made me feel as though she was not engaged or listening. I asked this doctor to biopsy the areas of concern. He refused. I reiterated my concerns several times and I felt I got nonchalant replies each time. He basically told me casually "If they bother you get them out, if not, leave them." I felt disappointed. I felt like a number. The same busy nurse handed me paperwork, shot off some instructions to me in a hurry. I'd been referred to this office due to the pain I was having. I told them when I got to the office that my situation was painful. I find out later they submitted coding to my insurance company that said my surgery was COSMETIC.. which means insurance would have denied my claim. I only found this out because my insurance company happened send me a letter and Only because I'd asked them to send a predetermination letter to determine coverage. Prior to this point I"d had to argues with their receptionist to send a message back to the nurse to have them SEND a predetermination letter. She refused and debated and said I needed to call the business office or figure it out myself by rattling off numbers or a formula she had in her head. I said excuse me. The business office can't tell whether or not there will be coverage. The coding listed on the predetermination does. I said " Can you PLEASE send a message with the following information..." I'd already done the leg work. I just needed her to send a message. She had an attitude because she felt it was too early to do so. However, I needed to know if there would be coverage in advance for financial reasons. After all of that ... I canceled with them. The nurse didn't try to find out why ...just "Ok ma'am , let us know if you need to reschedule." That was months ago.. I got a call last week from the hospital asking I was still having surgery. They didn't bother to cancel the surgery. Their office needs some soft skills training and to improve in bedside manner. When someone is coming to a doctor for help and are not sure about their health. We need compassion , support, kindness, professionalism, and assistance.Dr.Mainous' office was MUCH BETTER!!
I love this doctor. He removed my gallbladder. I was back to work in three days. I was sore but everything else was perfect.
It was an easy experience, he is very informative and the Surgery went Smoothly !! Love the ladies in the office !! Thank you so much for everything ❤️
Dr. Dockendorf did an outstanding job for me on all three! I would highly recommend him. I had the esophageal stricture and colonoscopy done first and then 2 weeks later had the hernia done. I had already heard he was excellent on hernia repair! He listens to patients concerns and everything went smoothly.

Dr. Dockendorf, office, & surgery staff were extremely professional and attentive to my needs throughout the surgery process. Consultation was informative and scheduling was a breeze. Surgery was exactly as Dr. Dockendorf described with daily visits made to me in the hospital after the surgery (lobectomy). I would highly recommend.
He tells it like it is after reviewing all pertinent data including radiology reports. He has a good bedside manner.
I have used Dr. Dockendorf many times. He is a super doctor. I cannot say enough good things about him

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
