Alan Fortier's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Fortier is one of the best doctors I’ve ever had. He shows true concern for you and takes time to listen to me. If he feels he can’t give you the proper medical care for a special situation, he will refer you to a specialist. He was very attentive to my husband in my husband’s final days and a big comfort to me. And lastly, I can always get in to see him…sometimes in the same day.

I made an appointment with Dr. Fortier for my husband, as we were needing a new GP, and I found that he had generally good reviews. My husband has been dealing with side effects from medications, and we were hoping that he would at the very least, suggest some type of routine labwork, maybe an EKG. However, as soon as my husband was done explaining the issue for a second time, Dr. Fortier basically told my husband that the symptoms he was experiencing were all in his "pysche." That the dizziness he felt were break-through panic attacks. I could sense that my husband was getting irritated, but he asked for clarification to make sure that he was understanding, and once again, Dr. Fortier seemed to only talk about how the medicine he was taking "doesn't work like that." At this point my husband looked at me and said that we could go. He did react pretty harshly, but he also disclosed that he was having issues with medication to treat his depression/irritability. If your professional opinion is that it is all in his head - fine. But it felt like his symptoms and concerns were being dismissed. And it felt awful. I wasn't even sure how to react. I know that a patient getting upset, and saying that he is done with the appointment prematurely is not something that a doctor wants to deal with. However, reaction aside, we just wanted some help. To figure out what he was dealing with. I truly hope that this is not something that happens often, because I would hate for anyone to feel like the person they are going to see for help doesn't really care, which is VERY hard for some people to do.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in the care I got and I went in very hopeful about him. I spent my time explaining my condition to him after having already explained the same thing at length with the intake nurse. My concern was that I might have a blood pressure issue, made worse from medication. However I got a 10 minute explanation of how it was all in my head. Maybe I’m just unlucky at picking new doctors, but I don’t understand why I seem to have doctors come to the conclusion that my issues are all in my head. I am just so very disappointed, and feeling like giving up trying to figure out what is wrong. Every doctor should realize that someone could need coming to them out of desperation, and Tammy don’t need to hear a generic canned explanation or a claim that is all in your head.

I would not recommend Dr. Fortier for your medical care. Absolutely the worst patient follow up care that I've ever seen. Does not call you with test results in a timely manner. If you're told you need an emergency chest x-ray because you sound so bad and 3 days later you still didn't get results after calling multiple times and leaving messages, there is something wrong. How does he know that his patient is getting the proper treatment if he still hasn't looked at the x-ray. And leaving a message for the nurse is useless.

Dr. Fortier was highly recommended by two of my co-workers and,after going in to see him, I understood why. He truly cares about his patients’ needs. He took the time to explain lab work results, answered all of my questions and shared wonderful insight. I would certainly recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Fortier is amazing, he explains everything. His personality is what I love to see in a Dr. He will always be my Dr!

I saw this Doctor because my regular one was out. He was patient and wasn't rushing me to hurry up to get to the next patient.

Dr. Fortier, Has been my physician for 3yrs now. His bedside manner is amazing! He listens to me! Not just because I have advanced degrees in biology! This man knows me and respects me, he understands my issues! He contributed to my resumation of playing the piano.

Horrible doctor who talks down to his patients, and his nurse is an absolute terror. She doesn't listen, and she will not hesitate to tell you to sit down and shut up if she disagrees with what you are saying. When you tell the doctor what happened he rolls his eyes and ignores you. When you file a complaint against the nurse with the office you are dismissed as a patient. HORRIBLE physician!

Dr Fortier is exceptional
